Oh god no! NOOO! I remember the good ol days when I would come home from school excited to see toonami! I remember the first transformation of Tom! God I loved that little mini series or event or whatever you want to call it! I think this officially notes the end of stuff I remember highschool and before.!
Samurai jack was fucking amazing ;; :'( Goodnight sweet prince... We will miss you a lot!
I used to come home everyday after school and watch shit like Yuyu Hakusho, Tenchi Muyo, DBZ and DB, I never really got into the whole gundam thing. But I used to like heat up a hot pocket right before DBZ and I'd be all excited for the new episode. I remember when they redesigned Tom and he got pregnant too, shit was stupid, I remember being annoyed for awhile.
I wonder if I'd even like anime today if it wasn't for Toonami, shit changed my life tbh.
Shit sucked for the past few years, but it was thanks to Toonami which got me started in Anime, the first few being Cowboy Bebop and DBZ. Was a great block at one point, I got pissed when they replaced it with that shitty "magoozie" or whatever the fuck it was when they started showing crappy shows like Code Lyoko.
I only watch Adult Swim for Family Guy, use to be Futurama also, but you know what happened there. Cartoon Network is just dying.
See ya space cowboy. (*;-; )~
Voice of Aku, (Also voiced Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender) died last year. :/ A lot of people were saddened by this. Mako was his name, and he was awesome. D:
Also, nostalgic brought back by the old Toonami openings. Man, I'm gonna miss it even if it has sucked for a while.
So was Toonami just a time slot on Cartoon Network in America? In Europe we have a Toonami channel aswell as Cartoon Network. No idea if it's cancelled here too, but that would suck. I remember watching Outlaw Star every night back when it was still on Cartoon Network.![]()
It used to be a block every afternoon (that moved to the late night "Midnight Run") then moved to Saturday for like a 3 or 4 hour block, and lately it's just been a 2 hour block that was mostly Naruto. I dunno if they are canceling it worldwide or just over in the US.
I miss the 7 hour block they had on CN every Saturday. >(
Uh, no. I was talking about the voice of Aku (Mako) died last year in the middle of voicing Season 2 to Avatar. The voice of TOM is Steven Jay Blum (aka Spike from Cowboy Bebop). He's very much alive, lol. They just canceled it mainly because of ratings over here I believe. The block was only 2 hours, half of which Naruto, the other half was Ben 10 Alien Force and Samurai Jack.
And yeah, I miss Toonami that was moved from weekday afternoon/late night blocks to Saturday all day stuff. Those were the days. Now Cartoon Network is just a giant cesspool of shit.

god, they could have at least showed some old shows for the final airing of toonami. now i have no reason to turn the television on at all.
Man, I remember when Toonami first came out on CN. Anyone remember that game they had where Tom's ship got infected with some virus and you could play online to save his ship or whatever, and depending on how many people played it would change the event on TV? D:
Yuu Yuu Hakusho, DBZ, Tenchi Muyo & Samurai Jack, bawww. All of 8th grade after school was spent at my friends house watching DBZ. We shat ourselves when they finally got new episodes, lol.
And yeah, I haven't watched Toonami for years. I only remember the old Tom, this new one looked really stupid.![]()
Edit: Grawr, double post!
I didn't read the whole thread but fuck TOM, Moltar was the shit yo. Mmmm sailor moon and robotech. good times.

RIP toonami
Not big into Anime but I loved the anime you showed after school from 8th grade to whenever you got shitty.
Oh wow, I forgot all about Moltar, good times.
I'd imagine one of the reasons it was canceled was due to ratings, and you can blame cable for that.
Cable in a lot of areas has made Cartoon Network exclusive to Dish/Digital Cable companies only, In my area for example, CN is now a static channel unless I watch it with a Box.
To watch CN, it would cost me, idk, alot. I have a digital box in my family room, where I can watch CN, but they want to charge me an assload to put boxes in other rooms. Not worth it to watch CN IMO especially since I really only watched family guy, robot chicken, and dexter/courage lol. While I agree that both Adult Swim and Toonami have made some BIG scheduling mistakes and were/are going downhill and wont last forever unless they fix it, the taking away of viewers, especially in less fortunate families/homes can't help.
Man, lots of good memories thanks to Toonami. I used to tape it everyday and watch it after practice in college.

One of my all time favorites.
