Hello BG. Today we Hall of Shame the pearlsacks of SapereAude linkshell on the Garuda server.

I'll keep commentary to a minimum and let some pictures explain.

The Linkshell

Loot is distributed to members at the discretion of pearlsacks. They decide who can lot what. As such, the pearlsack favourites are highly rewarded while others are given much less.

Absolute Virtue

It was well documented that SapereAude linkshell recently defeated Absolute Virtue. What wasn't so widely spread across message forums was the leaders lotting on the drops they wanted, and then charging members gil to lot on the remains.

Note:

Dankster recently received an E.Body (denoted by bold font!), Herald's Gaiters and an Apocalypse partially funded by the LS bank, before his Ninurta's Sash.

Draken recently recieved partial LS funding for his Yoichinoyumi and a Ridill (also in bold!).

Jackyl recently lotted a Velocious Belt over other LS members (within the past month), before this Ninurta's Sash.

Tiresta is not strictly a pearlsack, but her boyfriend is and she carries a lot of weight in the LS.

The only members to recieve AV loot who are not pearlsacks are Leif (Aureole), Tirgen (Aureole), Aztech (Ninurta's Sash) and Kenne (Bellona's Ring). Some of these people are known pearlsack favourites, shown in the recording later on.

Pandemonium Warden

For those curious

Pandemonium Warden now has draw-in similar to Absolute Virtue. This makes form transition while straight tanking difficult (8 gear pops + Pandemonium Warden) as you cannot kite of form change. Don't worry though, Belgarath thinks SA will have it down within 2 more pops!

It's hard to say without knowing the rest of their loot system, but it's not terribly uncommon for LSs to "sell" everything and handle gil like other LSs handle DKP. Basically, say you have 20 people at a Tiamat kill, and Heralds cost 20m on the market (totally arbitrary numbers). Each person is entitled to a 1m split, or they can buy the gaiters for 19m out of pocket. People who want gaiters can save gil until they can afford, and people who don't can spend it on relic currency or other gear or whatever. Obviously the numbers would be different in a real system, but that's the general idea.

Many linkshells do sell/split events. Are you saying they should allow the general public to buy items and specifically exclude LS members from buying them?

Also, selling to LS members at a discount is pretty common for sell/split style events.

It's nice that you can make judgments like that without even having a clue about how their loot system works. Why don't you wait for one of their actual members to explain, rather than a whiny pissant that's trying to start drama and is pretty much guaranteed to be misrepresenting things?

Actually I wasn't comparing you to them or anyone, I don't think SapereAude's system is bad, or care tbh, I run my LS just fine as well, and was just saying that even if this topic exist I don't think SA will have 10 members dropping their pearls tomorrow morning because their leaders get shit done, and then I added famous LS leaders from these boards lol

Not suprised in the slightest, I've never seen a shell run without the leaders taking most everything. DF? Leader takes two relics and 60M for an Ebody-1, takes an EBody for his level 4 WAR. Ex? That's what he wants you to think, which, given the source, should make you wonder whether that's actually the case or not rather than assume. Think critically, most LSs with loot systems *THAT* bad aren't running around killing AV and seriously attempting PW.

That sounds a lot like a points system, except that people who farm/buy gil get everything first, and people who are sure they never want anything from ls events can spend it elsewhere. If you don't mind getting in line behind the crazy azn that never sleeps (even though you'd probably be in line behind him in a DKP system too) then the only problem I see is that it might encourage gilbuying.

And of course the leaders get whatever they want. That's how it always works, amirite?
