The best part about that movie is the awesome job they did with sub titling, unlike most other movies not in English.

See, that's the one benefit most people overlook that leaders already have. As the leader, you're doing exactly what you want. You decide what events to do, you decide when you do what events, and if you change your mind, you have the power to come up with a good enough reason to make your people follow you to the next thing YOU want to do. People who create linkshells create them because THEY want something, and then they do it. In my opinion, that alone is enough benefit and the rest should be based on how much actual work they put in, not some invisible standard.

And if you think that middle and upper management always works harder than the construction worker, the guy taking out the trash and the guy scooping up shit, you're out of your mind. Most people don't want those jobs simply because they're hard. Just because you have a higher position definately DOES NOT mean that you're working harder than the people below you, in fact it's usually completely opposite and there's often many times in FFXI where I see leaders sit back, lead but do very little themselves but see the loot roll in because they think they're entitled to it.

Again, if this all works for this linkshell and their members don't care about being the footstools to their oh so gracious overlords, so be it, but it's an outright lie to believe a tyrant deserves another turkey leg when their people are starving.

I highly doubt the SA members are hurting for gear. Really doubt they're starving and it's fucking ridiculous to liken their leaders to tyrants and pixels to food.

I think Cow_K should also explain his old limbus group and his current nyzul Isle group in relation to paragraph 2 of his statement. I would hope that shows him that leaders do more often then not work harder then normal members, and also that not every leader is a tyrant.

ITT: We learn that if you're getting dicked by drops in SA, then you're doing a poor job at kissing ass. :D

Closely-nit LS and/or small-numbered ones generally don't have a point system. That's the beauty of playing with folks you can trust.

Now, a HNMLS + no point system with their main goal of pimping out their members with the latest HNM? You better like bending over alot. Nobody's that dumb to join a HNMLS like that without being BFF with the sacks

I completely agree with this statement, but far too often do I see the opposite, especially within large HNM groupings. Do I need to point out how often I've seen leaders do very little yet their group holds them up on a silver platter? Should I point out the old ManaR or the guy who started Trogdor? The latter perhaps the best prime example of a group of people completely screwed over by unchecked leadership. This alone is probably the main reason why I've done my best to stick with smaller individualized groups through approximately the last 5 years rather than join a large group and fill the gas tank of someone else's Hummer all day.

As for the bolded, Crazypluto. But enough about Sylph loldrama.

As long as there are people who follow leaders who make stupid rules, there will always be leaders who make stupid rules. But I'm sure that's already been stated in the last 14 pages. I mostly just wanted to give a shoutout to Jimbo and Cowk. Been a while, eh? 8-)

I would ponder a guess that everyone in their LS has the ability to think on their own, play their jobs correctly and efficiently at all times without the leaders telling them what to do.
Let me guess, you can tell since you've seen quite a lot of top tier LS in your time and because of the pixels?

I am not sure what your trying to imply here, are you saying I only judge TOP TIER LSs based on gear? Because as a matter of fact I am friends with 2 members in SA(hey Richardd and BO) and have known them for quiet awhile. I have also been around the end-game scene for some time now, not only on Hades, but also on Diabolos, so I feel my judgment on considering SA a top LS in FFXI a good one and I am sure there are plenty of people that side with it. I mean, most players refer to Excellence as a Top tier LS, even some consider them the best, but what they done that SA hasn't or continues to do? I have also seen LSs with good pixels that are horrible and only have said pixels because they bring 2-3 alliances to camps(hello DaFunk/DaFunkscion/whatever the fuck you call your self now) so yeah, its not like I would consider them a top LS, even on Hades.

And oh yeah, I am brown nosing, I can't believe it was that obvious. Let me reinstall the game and get my deleted character back. Rich, give me the vent info so I can come sex you up inorder to get a good reference, I promise I will bring Mak with me .

    Also: idiot, retard, etc.

Feel the need to make input on old thread, sorry.

I like being a sheep. But then again, this sheep is given an opinion on events we do and earns points the same as other ls members, including the leaders.

You can give the argument leaders do more than ls members, but it fails logic. If you have an ls that starts with 18 members (for arguments sake) and all 18 members are at every event, the same amount of points is being earned by all 18 members (including the leader). If a member puts out more effort on their "off time" they usually receive extra points for it. Effort recognized. A good ls has a checks and balances system that allows leaders and members to maintain a good balance. If an officer in the ls is out of line, there is someone to tell them so.

Bottom line: No matter how you look at it FFXI is based on socialistic tendencies with capitalistic values. The market has supply and demand, but you can't get anywhere in the game by yourself. This includes ls leaders the same as ls members.
