Why is it a common human desire to care about things that don't affect one's self to the slightest extent?
Why does it matter what they choose to do if you aren't affected?

One could say the same thing about you caring about us caring about what they choose to do.
(God damn I hate the way I worded that, but the point still stands)
How can you make that conclusion based on a thread? Most posters either understand the situation and therefore, react according to their own experiences. Others just want to increase their post count. I wouldn't call it a "common" trait among humans because in real world situations you could find numerous situations that contradict your statement. However, if your statement were true, then the desire is probably fueled by the search for knowledge.
Possibly true, but I'm not interested enough to get into a theoretical debate.
Yugl, if you don't notice the same trend in everyday life I would love to be in your position. People making a conscious effort to impose their opinions on something they aren't affected by occurs all too often from my perspective.
Stopped reading at page three when everyone was basically copy and pasting the previous reply into their own posts.... but am I really the only one who's somewhat pissed that they're intentionally concealing information about PW...? After all the shit that people went through over that mob, it would be nice to at least know what the hell is up with it now. Come on, you're not inventing the double-barreled beer cap here, there's no need to put the gag order on your LS members....
In before "get off your lazy ass and pop it yourself".
"Get off your lazy ass and pop it yourself."

Careful with the N-word there Jim. The government might think black people play this game and shut it all down.

Or you might be called one and be mistaken for a dude trying to steal a computer or Television set. Either way be careful, internet tough guys is serious business.
Edit: I was trying to imply that internet people who use the Nword all the time sit around in their parents basement getting fat and acting tough. Someone needs to write me a Sarcasm for dummies book.
Enjoy your ban.XII. Racial Slurs and Extremely Derogatory Terms

This.
Just because people do not want to make you aware that they are unhappy does not mean that they arent.
People who claim to be too lazy to create/use a points system yet run a ls are full of shit - regardless of their opinion of a points system. Points systems are a way of showing members who is directly being rewarded for participation in events but even points systems can be manipulated to suit people.
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrr
I really can't say that point systems are always the best route (Although recently people have present me with some very decent ones). But that's just me, I've had horrible experiences with point systems. Personally from a leaders perspective with points people with a lot of points tend to start skipping raids and showing up for for things that only benefit them. Personally I'd rather keep them guessing so they don't skip out('-') *lol*
Plus, if you've ever been with a point linkshell for a long time, then it breaks. It hurts. You feel like the past 30952095 months of your life on this game have gone down the hole.
But that's just my perspective ._.
If you've ever been in a divine choice LS for a long time and it breaks, you'll feel exactly like that person you just mentioned. There's no difference. To the argument about skipping events, last time I checked, shouldn't all events be mandatory? If you happen to see them skip a few, deduct points or give infractions. Done. There's no perfect system which removes all favortism and bad decision-making but there are some that come real close to it.
Back to the topic of SA, like I said before, selling items to their members (sack/leaders alike) is not an uncommon thing. Lots of people do it to replenish the fund or because giving a 40mil+ item to a member with no strings attached may seem a bit naive.
Obviously other servers have higher standards than kujata. But if someone doesn't log in you can't deduct points for them having a life. (Maybe you can, I dunno, just my personal experience)
But agreed.
OP: yanno... I was a leader in a Linkshell for many years that operated on a favortism basis (so it seemed). I always got tells, emails, private vent convos, phone calls, etc about people who would always whine and bitch about 'omg so and so shouldn't be getting that' and so on. You know how sickening people like you are that bitch on a constant basis?
Sure at times certain things weren't fair (like LS leaders GF getting gaiters when she rarely showed up to anything, etc), but you know what's more unfair? Having people like you always in MY ear because I would actually listen to your concerns and then relay it amongst the other leaders in the LS. Then after I'd argue your case amongst the other leaders and stood up for you, where would you be? Skipping an event to level <insertlvl12dunesjobhere>, complaining to other pearls and causing unrest amongst the LS at events, or other random asshattery. You're the same type of person i've always delt with and stood up for in the past, yet when my ass was on the line you would be the first one there trying to suck ass to take my place within the LS. Eventually a few of us got sick of how the LS worked and eventually made a new linkshell with what we thought would be the most fair for everyone, instead of dragging our current and former friends and linkshell mates out into the public drama.
As far as the buying drops is concerned. OMG the sky is falling. In our LS if you want to upgrade your relic, then you buy currency from LS dynamis runs (for a reasonable rate). OMG THATS SO UNFAIR! oh wait a minute, we also have a bank payout to all LS members every month! Jumpin' Jesus, now wait a minute here ...
They're not killing the baby Jesus. They're doing things how they want in the linkshell. Just leave if you don't like it. You're not the only one who's been screwed over, nor will you be the last.
Is there a section on this board that is dedicated to bleeding hearts? I think it would make for a fine interesting read when bored at work.
Do people give 2 weeks notice if they decide to quit the game, transfer server or join another LS?
I like the part where when you buy them but they still aren't "yours".
"These items are NOT a money making investment, you cannot purchase to resell. This is just an attempt to keep as many items in the shell as possible while recouping costs"
Costs of what?
Seems if you wanted to keep items in the shell you'd you know, distribute them to the shell.
I know one thing for sure, if I pay 50m for an item from my own linkshell, I'll be damned if they can tell what I can/can't do with it afterwards.
