Video card dying.. or another issue?

So last night I decided to go afk for a few minutes.. so I decided to log out into the login front screen of FFXI. When I came back, I noticed my computer was completely locked up and wasn't responding to anything, so I restarted it. Logged back into FFXI fine, but after maybe 2-3 minutes the screen locked up again.

I had done a file check for FFXI on POL and let it do it's whole process, replacing/reinstalling it's files etc. Logged in, and it was working perfectly fine for awhile.. but I was tired and decided it was time to log out and sleep. This morning I logged in, farmed a bit in Fei'yin, but when I used my Dem ring to leave after hitting the telepoint, 30 seconds later the game crashed again.

Some people are telling me it could be registry problems, others are saying the video card is dying. I'd rather not reformat if I have a choice. I don't have any other graphic intensive games to test my card.. anyone have any ideas?

Card specs: GeForce 7600 GS
Driver Version I believe is: 6.14.0011.7516

I'd much rather just have to buy a new card. Thanks for reading!

Probably the card, have you tried reinstalling your nvidia drivers?

Yeah I reinstalled them once this morning after i locked up that time you see up there, got to the telepoint to enter sea.. locked again. I assume it's the card.. I will just have to downgrade to a crappier card till I find a better one for now I guess.

I third the card dying, but if you want to try a few other programs nonetheless, it's easy enough to do that. Just download some demos.
