Also, I just beat that Drago Boss and I noticed the music change did change the speed at which I had to hit the a button to continue the combo. Pretty cool.

Just got to Chapter 4. Loving this game so far, Chapter 3 was a bit of a dick at times (that Cactus Wolf rocked me until I just threw all my items at it). Feels like the game is just starting from this chapter intro.

I remember beating a boss in Earthbound that way once. Last hit was as the rolling HP bar was about to hit 0.

That one wasn't rolling fortunately, was still stupidly close. He had just gone into a form where he recharges his HP every turn so I thought I was fucked, but just before the first cure went off I killed him. Shit rocked.
