I love the BGM outside the Magypsie's house where the Needles are.
edit: Am I on shrooms? Holy shit, wow.
edit2: fuck this game for awhile, I've killed like 100 Monkalrus's and still have yet to see a pair of Mystical Gloves. Fucking Luxury Bananas.

2nd monkalru andddddddddddd i'm also super drunk and pop! hooray for gloves
You're gonna be overleveled as fuck if you killed them all normally. I just popped a savestate just as I was about to engage one (drop pool is made second you enter the fight, so need to do it before you run into em) and kept loading that to farm one so I didn't get exp. Not sure if it makes a difference, but go see the Magypsie and get the shrooms knocked outta you. I'm not certain if it affects the drops or not, but I kept getting 'nanas when I was still drugged up and stopped after I got un-drugged.
And BRP, do you know if these are the Pigs that drop the Amazing Cape?

I've killed shitloads and not seen it, but I'm not sure if the translations just butchering the names, 'cause that item list says Colonels drop it whereas that's a Major. I've looked up a couple FAQ's on GameFAQs and they don't even mention it. Shitsux.
Nope, I never went after the low-droprate type items. I don't think information about them was available to me. Well except for Magical Scepter, that one I found on random luck lol.
Damn, don't wanna continue through this place and miss out on it but they don't wanna drop it either. ;_;
Do the tempos get harder to hit as the game goes on or did I become deaf over the past 2 days? lol
I was hitting combos like mad in Chapter 1 but they seem harder to get now that I'm in Duster's chapter.
BTW thanks for that list Kiarax.
They alternate from really fucking weird to really fucking simple, there isn't much of a middle ground. I just randomly hit A with the music and hope for the best, other times I'll vary it through each characters attack until I find something but by the next turn I've usually lost the beat in my head. It's really annoying, I blame it on the emulator though, I bet on an actual game cartridge on the DS it is a bit more fluid.
I think maybe tonight after Heroes I'll play a little more, fuck the mystical gloves drop rate I'll just move on. Also, I hate finding stuff that's marginally better than what I just spent 5k to buy from a vendor. That's the last time I buy a Spiked Club thing for Lucas only to have it replaced with the Vigor thing like 2 steps later.
Preordered my Mother 3 Handbook today :D

I'm only just now getting the reference to the character "Bronson" -_-
I thought it looked familiar.
There's a series of videos on youtube of the different characters doing the open sesame dance.

Yea there appears to be a "Debug room" where you can do all sorts of weird things.
BRPs old avatars now make a lot more sense...
mmmm Black Beanling + Enemy Bufferizer = win
over 30,000 exp for just some time and 800 DP
(Rarely appears in the area just south of Lighter's house, a little east of the yammonster thing right by the present; chapter 5+)
Oh, I just felt like bringing this up.
The DSi might just be the final nail in the coffin of a Mother 3 NA release. Unless they do another Phoenix Wright.
Mother 3 won't ever be released outside Japan. Earthbound simply did not generate enough interest in people in NA. That's all there is to it.
Its a shame, while Earthbound was one of the most sub-par RPGs I ever played, Mother 3 is completely different and better in every aspect.
Edit: Forgot to mention, you can get a good item for any character in Chapter 5. Talk to the mother mouse while you're driving around in the Pig Flier, and she'll ask you to find her 7 kids. Find them and she'll give you the Shield Snatcher, a reusable item you can put on anyone. I put it on Boney of course, he's the item user of the year. It destroys all shields, so it can be useful.
Just beat Mother 3... manly tears...![]()
I would call them girly tears.
Cool story, BRP.
I just beat the game too. Powerful ending. If I weren't already speechless being alone in the apartment by myself, I'd be speechless. Fucking <3 Mr.Saturn even more than I already did. Also glad they added another "Fourside" area although not nearly as confusing as in Earthbound. Didn't try to get the missable items because I simply don't have the time I used to as a kid.
Didn't think the game was that hard but being a huge Earthbound fan back when I was younger, I pretty much knew how the game was gonna play and that's how it played. Died on a few bosses due to not knowing what to expect but never took me more than two times to beat some of the harder bosses. I didn't even grind until after Leder's speech and around the time I was like around level 45-47. Battle at the end pissed me off because I ran outta PP and everyone else had recovery items except Lucas. lol
First time I went in there I had very minimal resources and didnt treat it as an endurance fight and didnt go so well.
Second round was much easier now that I knew what to expect.
I want to think that his 'laser attack' isnt a normal physical attack, guarding with ultra buffed def made normal hits in the 20/30s while that laser beam was (while guarding or not) around 100.
