The big difference between making a gimmick battle like this in a Single Player RPG and in an MMO is the ridiculous amount of time it takes to even test anything. Yes, many of his RPGs have shitty little gimmicks that people need to retry over and over to figure out, but its acceptable because all you have to do is reset / die and you can retry a new battle plan in less than 1 minute.
AV on the other hand, takes hours of fighting / farming, multiple people to get to, and the only hint we have is an ability we can use once every 2 hours and is supposed to affect him "someway".
So yes this concept may work in a single player RPG where you can retest a boss fight within 1 minute of dying and lose nothing but it is completely flawed in an MMO setting. If this theory is correct its just shitty game design, because I guarantee you if AV could be fought in a single player game with no 2hr restrictions and a reset button we'd figure him out within a week.
What if you had to use the other outdoor, jailers to weaken AV.
edit: hahahaha, disregard that. I suck cocks

One of his attacks will always do 9999 damage to everyone. The other is a single target version.
Simple solution: Make sure Rinoa has Invincible Moon, keep all your party members on Yellow HP and spam the crap out of Renzokuken/Invincible Moon. Third member is whoever else you happen to have pimped out. You can always just stick Selphie in the third slot and pray for The End if you still feel like making it even easier.
dont listen to treelo, she uses gameshark.
I used to sell those things too. Then again, I remember selling imports of the first Guitar Hero, one handed PSX pads (actually sold one too, was so hard to keep a straight face), those horribly cheap dance mats, amongst other things.
But seriously, me? Cheat at Final Fantasy? You're having a laugh right?!
what anime is that in your sig?
Mine? Hellsing.
thats like the people who say they have been playing ffxi 7 or 8 years, ff8 came out in 1999 >:/Naturally, my reply was an admission that I didn't know what I was doing when I played it 10-12 years ago.
Yeah it is, but once you get the first IM off, you're free to spam her limit break as much as you want. Either it happens more frequently at lower HP levels or it had a high chance of occuring anyway, but I never had a problem keeping Invincible up using this method, almost every other limit break would be IM. Makes me wonder if I still have my saved game from all those years ago.
The way I defeated it after my Holy War trick...
Zell, Squall, Irvine. Have them all start at low HP and with First Action or whatever it is that lets them start at full ATB. Max their offensive stats.
Zell- If you have fast fingers, you can just repeat his two easiest moves to pull off (like up down, and left right) and if you're lucky on how much time you have (With low enough HP @ start, you can get like, 12.5 seconds) I was pulling off a move ever .1-.2 seconds, giving me ~84 attack rounds, which can easily all do 9999 if you've full stats.
Irvine- Fast ammo. With offensive stats jacked up enough, you do 9999 every shot, so you don't need to worry about stronger ammo. Just blast the hell out of it with a turbo controller / fast fingers, easily nail the thing a bajillion times.
Squall - Renzo with final weapon... Lionheart is great, but, if done right, pales in comparison to Zell's limit break. I've easily destroyed Omega before he even got off any damaging attacks before <_<
With Ultima junctioned on Evasion you can actually dodge most of Terra Break.
Also since it's physical, 255 defense+auto-protect+zombie makes you only take 700-900 damage per hit.
(Zombie status allows you to exceed 255 vit)

If I thought the same way it seems all of you had that I had posted some real, tangible, "I CAN HAS IDEA?!" thread about AV, then yeah, I'd see it getting locked pretty damn fast too. I know better than that shit.
It kinda seems to me that Sonomaa is the only one that really got the point of my original post. Now almost everyone is busy talking about FF8 instead, or acting like I'm trying to make a new lolAV thread.
I understood the point of the thread and I'm convinced that there's a gimmick to it, but there's nothing hinting us to the positive, only the negative, which SE always do (see level syncing good vs bad stats).
The only "gimmick" I can think of is in the video, not a single person was using a 1 handed weapon, everyone was using 2handers, all their melee were 2handers, their PLD and RDM were tanking with 2handed weapons despite the fact they fixed sword and shield before the vid was released. Something about that always struck me as very odd.
