This has only happened between me and my boss so far. He sends me a schedule update or request, and I reply. He receives my reply, but it is a huge mess, and unreadable.
It has only happened twice.
Both times I was replying to his mail, which he sent from Outlook on Windows. He then received my reply in Outlook on Windows. His message was quoted in my mail because apparently Apple thinks it is of utmost importance to quote every goddamn thing said in the previous mail, no exceptions.
The first time, I fixed it by simply sending a brand new mail. The second time, I re-opened the offending mail from my sent box, with my portion quoted and his portion quoted underneath. I erased his portion, and sent.
I have been unable to find an answer by searching... I guess there's no official term for garbled/unreadable/messed up email, so it's hard to find specific answers.
Best idea I've gotten so far is that iPhone sends in rich text, and possibly my boss sends in HTML, so having his text quoted screws everything up. I don't see the option to switch to HTML on the iPhone, so hopefully there's some other solution besides deleting his quoted text every single time (if that would even solve it).
Any ideas/fixes?
