Who cares if you kill it? Should have given them the drops.
Meh, I think that's a little different. I mean, not that I disagree that these people are scum for taking something that would have been killed without any trouble by the person they stole it from, but you shouldn't feel guilty about your kill. VV aggros from 25' away, so in all likelihood, it would have been a good 10-15 minutes before a reraise opportunity came along.
What I mean is that communication opens a sort of familiarity between the two parties and therefore makes understanding each other much smoother. It's a lot easier to steal a mob from some faceless jerkoff than it is to steal it from someone who is presenting himself in a friendly manner and asking you not to.
Over the summer, I was trioing faust with 1 rdm/nin and 2 blm/nin. About halfway through the fight a JP ls shows up and watches us. It was fairly messy, and at around 5% one of the blms died, and it went unclaimed. A member from the JP linkshell claimed it, and killed it.
Obviously we were upset since we still had a rdm/nin and 1 more blm/nin alive, and could've easily killed the remaining 5%, but before we even /t'd them or said anything in say, they immediately sent us apology tells and gave us the summerstone.
Once, an LS group of 13 wiped to Zipacna, I solo'd it, felt bad and gave them the stone >.>
Actually, "ashamed" was a very bad word to use. My feelings toward this are basically the same as yours.
Generally I assumed they didn't want people to know who had done it, thus "ashamed" came out, but I am sure they were pretty shameless about it (as evidenced by the poster).
It's the chance you take when you try to lowman stuff. Shit happens and for stuff that has competition, it's the nature of the beast.
Honestly, if I was on the other end of it, yeah I'd be pissed about losing it like that, but I'd also realize it just comes with the territory and move on.
No, it isn't. This is some despot shit. It's like stealing some BST relic shoes in Dyna. They were probably duoing despot for easily 2-3 hours. Don't think other linkshells walked through wherever they were fighting? It's not so much the fact that they stole it(actually it is), but rather what they said afterwords. The guy most likely reacted the way he did because he was in fact there for more than just the 5 minutes it takes to kill despot. The guy's in Ayzen's LS kept saying 'you shouldn't have died'. That's what makes me so pissed. In FFXI where shit is x4 the amount of time it should take to do something you have to be courteous to other players. This will come around and bite them in the ass someday.
I don't approve or disapprove really. I realize it's part of the game and it's going to happen. Not really worth getting all upset about it.
It doesn't matter how long they were doing it. In fact, the time involved is a contributing factor to why other people will steal your shit if they get the chance.
Cold fact is, the BLM shouldn't have died. Or in the event that either of them does, you have to realize other people may take the mob. You know this going into it, so if it bothers you that much, don't attempt the duo in the first place.
Karma also doesn't exist. It's a weak copout people like to throw around when something happens that upsets them to help them sleep at night.
It was a dick move, but like I said, you have to know this is a possiblity going in. No need to get all emo over it.
Leveling DNC and having a job ability that gives a magical-free invis and sneak has completely made me stupid.
Jig recast timer is at about 20 seconds, then I realize I'm /NIN. So I can just cast Monomi and Tonko. The key there being "and Tonko".

Embarassment; thy name is tiger.
:D
I was nubbing around in Nyzul and COMPLETELY forgot Gears were true sound the other night.
<Me> Ok, sneak/invis, and make sure you don't aggro any gears, pull them if you have to.
*10 seconds later I stumble around a corner and go to walk past a Gear trio to check if the mob we were after was around the next corner*
Security Field Malfunction, afflicted by Str down or some shit.
<Me> Yep, that was me, I'm putting on my retard kabuto as we speak.
