lots of things used to cast stona on themselves, I think the story behind that was that stun and petrify used to register as the same thing for mobs and every now and then a mob would try to unspetrify itself right after stun wore.

light elementals can buff themselves with white magic regardless of element

watch them idle and they'll also cast blink, aquaveil, and haste


dark elementals can also cast stun because while it isn't dark elemental, it is dark magic.
