So you did in fact get your Beta Key from Gamespot Kyo? Just read this article, and it makes it sound like they didn't/don't even HAVE any keys.
LOL

LOL
Yay!!! I just got an email from Playstation Underground! /snoopydance
Excerpt from email: Welcome to the LittleBigPlanet beta!
It pays to read. You read the post about the LittleBigPlanet(TM)
beta test on the LBP Official Game Site, and as a result, you've
made it into the beta! Instructions and your beta promotion code
are enclosed...so keep reading for just a minute more. Then, start
testing and have fun!
I'm sure a lot more peeps have gotten/will be getting this email shortly. :D
Yep thats where I got it, Ive tried getting in on a couple others to hook people up but no dice, but yeah thats where I got mine, just after the onthespot last week.
That article seems odd however, I got mine that day lol, im unsure what the problem was but I got an email from gamespot, they had my username and everything, maybe they had a few in office and the rest came from sony? Im unsure either way Ive been enjoying it.
Grats Elvemine!! There seems to be some confusion as to where that email is coming from. Seems like most people assumed at first that it was from the Official LBP News Site (the first 1000 posts deal) but people are getting that email that were well outside of the first 1000 posts. I was in the top 400 posts and HAVEN'T seen that email. So who knows... odd though.
I'm fairly certain I got it from the official playstation beta site because the email advising me of the beta key was sent to my Comcast email address. I use my Yahoo email address for all the regular 'game sites'. I do also know that my post was after the first 1000. I'm wondering if you have a beta key they can tell by your account info and those were removed from the list on their site. Perhaps that is how I managed to get a beta key even though my post was not in the first 1000.
Here is Wednesday's question: (for the elite 1UP users). A Review went up recently -- the author happened to be a caller in a podcast. Which podcast? Please check out the review here for some clues (only 1UP veterans will pick up on the hints). Submit your answers to Sack Boy's message box.
wednesday's question finally, I've nfc what the answer is
Do not share your beta key by PSN sharing. You get locked out for 24 hours lol

Wow I didn't expect such a jackass move from such a big gaming site like gamespot. How are you going to lie to people that you have codes and make them watch your goddamn boring ass show....
I got mine from Wednesday's 1up question. They gave me the code within like an hour of answering the question.
Grats Izzy! I was wondering that as well Elvemine, about the LBP Official Beta Keys. Since your post is tied to your user ID, and i am sure more people than just myself HAVE the beta from another site... Yeah, that could be why people were not getting codes even when they were in the top 1000. Either way, I am playing it and grats to everyone else that is.
Found out something interesting (to me) last night. I wanted to show a friend of mine what i had done so far in my level. I didn't want to publish it of course, since it was far from complete. A good way around this is publishing it as a locked level. You can then go to "My Levels", jump into the level, and then invite anyone from your Friendslist that is in the Beta to join you.
Was fun having my friend run around in my level looking for glitches and the like. The "Locked" level is actually a cool idea, because when you publish a locked level you get a Key to it in your creation Popit. You place that key in ANOTHER level, and you are essentially creating levels that have to be beaten to be able to advance to the next.
I did read in the UK OPM review that you can send created levels to friends via PSN so that will be a nice addition in the full realease.
Graelinn when the game releases, im excited to check out your level, send one my way >:O
I loaded LBP up last night and got through the first couple intro levels. Unfortunately we had events in FFXI so I had to turn off LBP.I did get through a bunch of the tutorials for creating last night and played a couple of other peoples levels they created. This game is going to be a lot of fun. ^^
I started farting around in the creation level and somehow got a silly leaf stuck to my sackboy... I have no idea how to take it off.![]()
There is going to be so much content avaliable for this game, I can see my whole 80 gig HD taken up by LBP levels D:
LOL Elve... yeah, i had a lot of fun putting Donkey Tails and Springy Eyeballs on people. To get rid of that (and any other stickers you get slapped with) just go to your Popit, choose your Sackboy icon, then scroll all the way over to the rightmost menu. There is an option there to "Wash Sackboy" or something.
If you are lucky enough to have Kwijiboe show up in your Pod and he plasters pictures of himself all over it, press Start and choose "Reset Pod" and you will do the same (clean) your Pod.
Be happy to show ya Kyo, it is super super easy, but i am having fun just making a "pretty" level. If you are on sometime in the next few nights too, i could always just invite you to it. Either way, pretty damned excited about this game's release. More so every day.
Oh and those reviews are not lying when they say you will find your self stopping mid conversation throughout your day when you get hit with an epiphany of "HOLY SHIT I BET I COULD MAKE <insert epic idea>!!"
Happened to me a few times while i was trying to sleep lol
Maybe silly question. Does it support text chat with a keyboard? Still unsure about buying this, but I want to know if I need to pick up a headset with it if I do.
Im not really sure, ill spend most of my time creating levels and playing others, the online jam session probably not much, I personaly enjoy playing alot of stuff by myself.
Yes, text chat is supported. If you look here in this image, the icon in the lower left brings up the PS3s Text Entry window. You type with the keyboard (or Analog Stick) and press start and your text dsplays in a little bubble above your Sackboy.
I will say though, it would be pretty annoying to type like this for very long, since you have to open your PopIt, select the icon, enter your text, then press Start. So you essentially have to stop whatever you are doing in the game to type this way.
I actually haven't just tried to type straight away... not sure if that does anything or not (without opening the text bubble icon in the PopIt)
I am usually the same way, but so far the few games i have Jam Sessioned have been a blast. So far... i am spending 90% of my time working on my level, but every now and then i "take a break" and check out some other created content, but usually do that solo.
