no headphone slot
1GB bandwidth cap
no desktop sync

not to mention, it's fugly
fail
I'm getting one on launch day. I just got my SK2008 too, lolz.
T-Mobile = no fucking way.
Is this THE G-phone? Or some phone with android on it?
Any word on how much the plans cost? I've had T-mobile for 4 years and it's fine, but my phone is super bare bones (and also 4 years old). I was going to jump to the iPhone but the $85/month scared me away. (I pay $51 after taxes/fees for 600 anytime+free nights/weekends+200 SMS)
Why can't verizon get a phone like the iPhone or this g1? Why must all of their phones suck horribly?
I am so very interested in android, but t-mobile's 3g is non-existent, so no.
I read 35$/month for unlimited data/messaging
3G isn't "non-existent", AT&T didn't have great 3G support either, it's a slowly improving field. For now Wi-Fi is just fine for a majority of the users. 3G is just a nice bonus which will see more usability once it becomes more widespread. At least that's how I see it for now.
This phone is ugly ass hell imo for some reason, and I was really looking forward to it. T-Mobile is bleh. I expected a lot more out of the design. It is in no way an Iphone-killer.
I'll stick with my Blackberry World Ed.
the design comparison of iphone vs. google phone is just like that of macbook vs. a dell laptop
lol, "can't really beat all Iphone support app's"
Yeah, google just spent millions alone on just developing free applications for Android and is providing the best base for developers. No developer is going to choose to develop for the iPhone when the G1 comes out if they are looking for profit because there is not going to be any cut to revenues for developers, and there won't be any of the bullshit Apple does where they deny your app going up in the store if it's even remotely similar to something else or provides a functionality they want to provide (i.e. mail app).
P.S. the G1 might not overtake the market but google is smart, they are allowing Android to be used in a handset for any phone. It's the same break in reasoning that people have with Chrome, they think google is trying to overtake the market with a new browser when in reality they are just trying to redefine what a browser should do and provide a backbone that other browsers can use (gears). Just like this, android is more a backbone they're willing to offer any phone capable of supporting it. The benefits are numerous but one of the best ones imho is the ability to run multiple processes at once, the iPhone cannot do this and it leads to poor functionality because apps can't interact with other apps, android allows multiple apps to be running at once which opens up endless possibilities and is much more developer friendly.
There is one app for Android that I have seen so far that hands down beats any app I've seen for the iPhone. You take a picture of a barcode on a product at a store, and the app compares that products price with the prices of the same product at local stores and online stores.

Forgive me if the iPhone has an app like this as I haven't seen it.
I haven't had any problems with T-Mobile. It's a bit on the fugly side, but I'm really needing to upgrade my phone anyway, will probably get one.
Guess I'll wait for Blackberry Bold(coming out in January for T afaik). Its freaking awesome.
