I was not really talking about landing debuffs, i was talking about duration of debuffs. this is what i was saying gets overlooked. there is no debate that m.acc+skill > chr for landing.

the reason im so interested in this piece is that i have an astute cape, and the 10 chr loss from jester's +1 makes me look at this in a better sense

i don't see what the big deal about this torque is. For arguments sake if 2 CHR = 1 skill, than this is essentially a wind torque +1 CHR. Imo with BRD having a C ranking in wind/sing i think stacking skill is much more important than CHR. For everyday barding this will not make a difference if you have decent gear in other slots, for anything HNM/highley resistant just eat a taco or cast a CHR etude on yourself and you will be fine.

Only way i see this as usefull:
    1. BRD/NIN in meripo to make up for the CHR you lose in not being /whm
    2. melee brd in campaign, lets say you're using dusk gloves and kitty pants, the +15 skill u get
    3. Someone who is not serious about their brd (ie merit whore) and would rather use 300k elsewhere by selling torque

Otherwise you are gonna want to hold on to wind torque for hitting tiers and piper torque will only take up more inventory

I debuff in 109 CHR, 255 Singing, 253 Wind, and +7 m.acc. I'm just not seeing these regularly early-wearing debuffs that more CHR is supposed to fix. I guarantee that it's not because I'm staring off into space while it happens all the time. The only time I see issues are on things like PLD mobs, or in Salvage when a lot of gear is still locked and/or CHR is locked.

Anyone can get a random partial resist, or full resist. If partial resists are happening all the time, then yes, something is definitely wrong. I've never heard of anything other than full resist, half duration (partial resist), or full duration lullaby for sure. I...guess CHR and not skill/macc could be what affects the distribution of partial and non-resists?

I get plenty of full duration sleeps(sleeps, not lullabies) with all skill gear and no int really, I've never heard someone advocate stacking INT over enfeebling skill. Likewise, I don't have problems with half resists if I use all skill on BRD /shrug

How exactly do you assume that landing the debuff and the duration of the debuff are calculated any differently than any other resistible enfeeble in the game? A partial duration is a partial resist, which is no different than a full resist except for the severity. If skill is helping a player get less full resists, it's inherently helping them get less partial resists as well. CHR would only make a difference if it were leading to less resists overall, which there is no evidence towards.

As for comparing the torques, I really don't see the benefit of this torque unless it can allow a player to remove CHR from other slots to better effects. It's swell if a Heaven's ring could be taken off due to this torque, but I sit at 109 CHR without a CHR ring whatsoever, and I'll be at 112 CHR with +3 more Magic Acc. once I get an Omega ring. Until someone finds an HNM where more than 110 CHR could break a tier of resists, there's no reason not to have as much skill as possible, doubly so because at least skill affects buffs.

it is simply a theory. i didnt present any facts, nor am i claiming it is really how CHR works.

CHR is for debuffs, elegy, lullaby etc. 2 CHR = 1 Magic Accuracy.Wind skill is for buffs. +12 Wind hits Minuet cap, every 7 is another March Tier. Wind skill is also believed to enhance Magic Accuracy as well, however to my knowledge no formula has been proven.

Despite BRD having massive amounts of gear, i gear swap everything from Debuff sets, to Buff sets, to Idle, to pull etc etc etc. This torque compared to Wind torque would seem better For debuffs. However, With much other gear out there for CHR I hit the charisma cap (or more specifically the point where CHR has diminishing returns at about 110-120) with very few pieces of CHR gear. In my opinion this Torque would be better if 2 additional Wind Skill doesn't put you over the next March Tier. In my buff setup it came down to either use wind torque or piper's and a nereid ring to hit the next tier, so i chose to use just a wind torque for the sake of 1 less item to swap and inventory. The extra 5 CHR really doesn't do much when you have 120 CHR.
