was that what the "family matters" were that had him missing team meetings? I didn't really pay attention to that news past the whole suspended 2 weeks thing
Meh, San Diego's Defense is almost as bad as Denver's, but you have no complaints there >.>
Edit: I watched the whole KC/Denver game and KC played really really fucking good. Denver didn't just lose that game, KC made some nice plays out there, especially on defense.
Yeah police had reports of having to go to his home twice in the last month and his wife has had restraining orders on him. He seems like the kinda dude that would beat a chick, I hate the guy, I dont like the giants either and I hope they loose him for the season.
I'm like TO, happy when they're winning (first two weeks were horrible ;x)
SD's D was equally bad to begin with, yeah, but they are also missing their best defensive player that rushes the passer. That and they do start slow. I think they are slowly getting a bit better, and we'll be able to depend on them more. Denver's defense has no excuse for being horrible.
Also, I had the KC/Denver game too. I don't care if KC played really really good. They are Kansas City. They hadn't won a game since LAST OCTOBER. They started Damon Huard. Where's the pass rush? Where's the ability to stop Larry Johnson? The Denver D-Line just got dominated. Heck. Denver shouldn't be 3-1 to be completely honest. They've gotten lucky as fuck except for their win @ Oakland.
fucking broncos and their 2-pt conversions
Terrible teams usually play one or two games a season where they completely dominate a team that is better than them. Baltimore dominated New England last year (despite the NE win), the Dolphins last week (although I guess it's debatable who is better...miami or NE lol). All I'm saying is KC has to get some credit for the way that defense played...I mean hell, they lit up the three teams offensively, and KC largely held them in check. I credit KCs defense more for winning than Denver's defense for losing.
I do admit that KC played some nice defense, but I blame it on Denver's lack of ability to stop anyone at all. That's just my opinion, but I really don't like their team defense at all.
I'm glad Dallas lost, being undefeated week to week is bad for you, media gets all gay and bad teams play you like its the freaking Superbowl every week.
Matchups do make a difference in most games, but you realize that Denver has given up 32+ points in 3/4 of their games? Their defense isn't bad, it sucks ass chunks.
They can't rush the passer like San Diego can, which hurts in the long run because their above average secondary can't cover forever.
I think I mentioned I thought Denver was overrated and they used alot of "smoke and mirrors". They were ranked too high early in this thread.
SD may be last in pass defense, but I don't expect it to continue to be honest. Cromartie will get it going, and will stil probably get 6-8 picks this year. That defense will cause turnovers, but might give up a few points in the process. Denver can't really even do that, and they'll give up 27-30+ imo.
Yeah Denver's defense is capable of giving up 30+ points a game imo, they will be in A LOT of shoot outs. That really doesn't work so well in the post season, they need to get that shit figured out soon. They made the Chiefs look like offensive juggernauts in all phases of the game.
Wrong.
If your team can get to the quarterback, it stops the quarterback from getting comfortable in the pocket. If the QB isn't comfortable, his timing is off. If his timing is off, he's going to make errant passes. If he makes errant passes, he'll be throwing interceptions. If he's throwing interceptions, it's means he's killing (would be) scoring drives.
And oh hay look, San Diego's ranked 6th in sacks and 8th in INT's. Denver on the other hand? 22nd, and 23rd respectively.
If your defense can't rush the passer and cause turnovers they aren't going to win shit. Thats the difference between San Diego and Denver.
deejay pretty much nailed it. no corner can cover a receiver forever, a secondary is greatly influenced by its pass rush. there is a reason TEN has two guys that are top 10 in sacks and two guys that are top five in interceptions, they go hand in hand.
edit: who were the giants starting corners last year in the playoffs? RW mcquarters and aaron ross? a journeyman and a rookie, these guys were able to hang with TO and Moss because of the pass rush, not because they are world class corners.
edit2: sam madison may have been one of the corners, idr. makes no difference.
