Installing to the HD made this game 1,000,000x better; playing from the disc is downright horrendous. Imo: The game is unplayable from the disc...

Another noob question: Is there a gaude or xp bar of some sort that shows what is needed for things like "X is learned, or HP increased" ?

Nope, statups seem to be random. After a few battles where you get a lot of statups for your entire group of unions, your BR (battle rank) will go up (you can see your battle rank at the end of each fight... that's your "level"..)

Haha base 5 was amazing, so exciting.. I think it wasn't that hard though, I found base 3 to be more difficult :< I guess it's because brawl rarely killed me, good looking skill that is btw. The base fights are pretty kickass aside from the lame buildup before the bosses, but the bosses themselves are awesome, reminds me of mgs4 beauty&beast corps somehow

EDIT: Just did base 6, I'm not sure what happened there. Got the guy to almost red hp, then he used iron will. Good thing was though that each of my unions had their special move triggered, so it was a guaranteed win no matter what..He got first attack round in thou, did like 6 hits in a row and missed them all. Truly a fearsome enemy.

rofl, go back to the last page, most of it talks about how lame and random the base 6 boss is. That's what he does... he pretends to suck until you get him to flashing red, andthen goes apeshit crazy with his OD. Just keep 1 group on him at a time and sacrifice them as you kill him. Have Emmy's group (make sure there's a vivication herb dude in her group so she can use revitalize) heal the dead and you'll survive.

Yeah I actually beat him that round lol. Iron Will>6 misses in a row. Then I unleashed the hell with my special moves and down he went. Random indeed

Now after I'm done with the bases I'm wondering if I could somehow make my leaders learn their unique moves like Heaven's door or Hawkrang.. I'm afraid if I overlevel my chara's I'll have hell of a time learning them at BR120 or something. They kinda learn them as their weapons get stronger? I should prolly start caring about what components they want if that's the case :D

I'm also kinda worried that because all of my unions are pretty physical damage heavy I won't get to learn good spells and mage's STR will raise instead of INT >_> I don't even know how that works..!

That's because when you choose to do a remnant move, your evasion is like 99.9%.
Oh and go to Koenigsdorf, it's just another type of 'base' boss fight, except the boss is already outside. After that you go to the town to the east you couldn't go to until now, it's where the god emperor lives... you do some more things there and then you go find another way to the sacred lands where the conqueror actually is. So there's still a good deal of quests and story left until then if you're going for the 100% route.

Yeah I want to wrap this thing up first playthrough. Didn't do many sidequests before I got bases (and now koenigsdorf) done since that stuff usually raises my BR without giving me any stats >_> Now I'll focus on dealing with all the optional stuff.. Are there still many NM's I'm too low to kill? I thought of doing the guild tasks but the NM's are pain to pop and it's gonna piss me off if I can't kill the NM after popping it D:

anyone able to trigger the caedmon silver falcons quests part 1 in the balterosa pub? the quest list i posted says its before the aqueducts (main mission) but im at the point with 0 quests left on disc one except the falcon quests

ive done some reading elsewhere saying some people have been able to trigger it on disc 2 but i dont want to risk it just in case i get fucked in the buttwhole by 2 quests for the 200 gscore (

doing all the quests on d1 so far has me at BR58 teams are currently 5/5/5 using all the main characters from the storyline, learned blackout back around BR40 and boy is it a sick move when you have 8 mobs on the screen, pretty much always kills everyone its pretty sick going to be loving it for the base runs

Is there any trick to learning Blackout? I'm past the bases and doing the dark side of Darken Forest atm and don't have it. I'm sure I could have learned it by now if you got it that early. So just wondering if I'm missing something...

Yeah TD that quest is pain to trigger, I heard you gotta go fight some mobs before so I went to mojcado castle fought 2 links then came back and it triggered the quest, same with part 2.. Could take longer afaik too.

    Hyan did you do it on D2 or D1?? I've heard i can do it on D2 but id rather not have to go to my save point before the aqueducts ;-;

Blackout can be learned only when you have 3 or more people set to cast a spell in the next attack round. Also anyone that you want to learn it needs to be casting a higher tier spell

    example:

    Rush will cast Spark IV
Pagus will cast Wind Shear II
Soldier 1 will cast Wind Shear
    Soldier 2 will attack

this will trigger black out which will be the only move this party does for the turn. i believe its called arcana magic and each of the different schools of magic has its own arcana from what i have read

remedies has rejuvenating water which i have not been able to trigger yet but i picture it being something like benediction for all parties (full HP, cure all ailments i hope)

evocations has whiteout which i have not got yet

    invocations is blackout

hexes has one and so does bombs and traps i think but im not sure

Yeah I wasn't sure either and did it on disc 1 :D Disc 2 I almost missed the duke of ghor quest, better keep a close eye on that one - gamefaqs says you gotta talk to the duke between bases but not how many times exactly.. it seems every time you've cleared 2 bases you need to talk to him, ex. after base 1, 3, and 5. Had to redo the last base but fortunately not more than that..

ya i wont miss it on my second playthru, i didnt even start to look at stuff online for the game until i got stuck looking for jewel steel which lead me to the DLC for ancient ruins

i just hit D2 a couple hours ago, was able to get the first falcons quest, and also got the quest that unlocks the tower in the desert where you have to bring the 3 godstones - that zone was fucking intense at BR60-65 felt like my first run thru in the ruins on my first play

so far im well on my way to getting all the quests done, i have all from D1 done 100% so long as the list im working from isnt wrong

It's impossible to get all quests done first playthrough there's just too many small prerequisite things that are so easy to miss. I just lost The Fallen quest because the massive timeframe for being able to do the quest caught me off guard, seriously that's like 2 cutscenes worth of story timeframe to get it. Kill me now.

Looking forward to going 1000/1000 eventually

Are you trying not to open the seibenbur paths for any specific reason? Path two was where I leveled up at that point since I hadn't downloaded my Ancient Ruins key yet. The Nussnackers were great for leveling up a few quick BR. Other than that, I also did that harvesting quest for the scientist in Melphina for a few levels. Once the entire Nest is open, the Yvalock's and everything else in there were good xp.

On a side note, do you unlock anything for defeating the game? I'm pretty close to the end now, but still have lots of quests to do and have missed lots that I want to restart for. So I'm thinking of just saving my time and restarting now...

im only unlocking what all quests allow me to up to the point i am at, if it were unlockable then it would be open for me

i have i think 4 and 5 paths open right now and thats it, if i had the second path i would be able to level some in the ancient ruins. im pretty sure those dont open until bases are over

beating the game doesnt unlock anything its pretty pitiful, u dont even get any achievement like a typical game

u do however get 200 points for beating the secret conqueror which i have no idea how to get to yet.

1st and 2nd path didn't open from a quest, just from talking to NPC's without the quest flag on them. One was quisti inside a pub (I forget which, might be Athlum), the other from talking to the Yama outside the secret Athlum guild.

I had read the secret conqueror fight is after getting the all quest achievement. It's an extra quest in Athlum pub or something that appears after you beat the game.
