Shoot for the stars! Get that 1 G achievement for beating the Ethereal Queen on Infinity mode and then pat yourself on the back. Imo trying to get all those Situation Bonuses and the extra difficulty levels is more fun/rewarding than grabbing items you missed on a prior playthrough, but maybe that's just me.

For the most part I agree (and dear god never for a 1g Achievement =P), as most games don't offer much in the way of branching stories or even slight difference. The only time i do make exceptions is when the story was engrossing enough to actually make me WANT to see it again. Or, like I mentioned has enough possibilities for differentiation on a second playthrough to remotely warrant it.

But largely? I am the type of person that usually won't even watch a movie a second time. There is just something lost after that initial playthrough/viewing that is never (and can never be) the same. That feeling of newness is what interests me 9 our of 10 times and when that is gone... it is gone.

When a jRPG is 20 hours long, you expect them to have some sort of replay value. Difficulties, different things to do, accomplish, I dunno... hell I'll even take achievements, it's what made me replay Vesperia/Lost Odyssey/Eternal Sonata multiple times.

Besides, by the way they were hyping that game I was expecting a KH/FF tier game... guess it's my fault for having high expectations from an extremely hyped TRI-ACE/SQUARE jRPG... >.>

Got Last Remnant, about to start playing it now... I installed both discs, and I heard that alleviates a lot of the framerate and loading issues, but I shall see!

been playing it all afternoon. last remnant been pretty fun so far. some of the nm lvl mobs (the pain in the ass ones with ??? as hp) have been challenging. killed some scorpion looking one so far and the land worm one. i'm finding so far it really does play like a mix of ff12, the SaGa series, and ff2 like SE stated. the story isn't bad so far and i'm liking the weapon creation and weapon upgrade systems. reminds me of legaia 2 a bit

I've barely scratched the surface, but I'm enjoying what I've played so far. Not having any slowdown issues (except the beginning fight...for obvious reasons). I really think I'm going to enjoy this one.

You mean the installation? It seems like all games are 6.3 gigs. So if it's 2 discs and you're installing BOTH at once (no real point to doing this, but whatever..) then 12.6.

    6.1 for Disc 1 and 6.6 for Disc 2.

I know there's no reason to do so, but I installed both just so I don't have to worry about it later!

I'm not far into the game at all, I like the battle system as it is different to anything I've personally experienced but the framerate issue is a problem that hopefully will get fixed somewhat in a patch sometime in the future. The description of items in the item menu is a bit small on a SDTV but everything else is clearly visible.

Played for a little while tonight. I played off the CD first and noticed the framerate issues like everyone else. I got annoyed and installed the CD and that took care of about 95% of them.

I read nothing going into this game so was a little taken back by the first combat sequence since they throw everything at you at once before explaining anything. Once I got over that and started to get a feel for the flanking and union system I'm now starting to enjoy just how different this is. I haven't quite picked up yet how to manipulate my damage much (other than just buying new weapons, but I'm sure you can fine tune things better, just don't know how yet...).

I definitely feel a lot of FF12 in this from the weapon crafting and having a hunting guild of sorts.

I'm unsure of how I feel about the story thus far. I can't tell if the beginning is just a stage setting type thing or not, but a lot of things feel very convenient and rushed right off the bat. Again, I'm only a couple hours in (just beat that fiery dragon thing in the cave with the two guest unions) so my opinion may be a little premature.

SO far I feel the same way, there is alot of slow down if u dont dl it to the HD, the combat system is quite diffrent and takes some getting used to, thus far the story is ur typical, girl gets kidnapped and you have to save her type story. The main characters voice sounds alot like ichigo's, im guessing it's the same voice actor.

Yeah Rush is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, The Conqueror (who I haven't seen yet) is voiced by Chris Sabat who did the voices for Vegeta and Piccolo in DBZ. I'll ask this cause I'm busy on FFXI atm and won't play LR for a few hours, can you install just the first disc or do you have to install both games?

You can instal one disc at a time and I quit playing, really dont care for the battle system or the world map.

The Conqueror is playable right? I thought the thing they were aiming for was a pretty "eastern" character and a manly "western" character. I would find that a bit disappointing since he looks like a fun dude to play as.

First few missions everything is assigned to you, I played through first 4 and you get generals from a group as your help, havent been able to customize it yet.

No. Who started spreading this around? It's floating everywhere. I'm pretty sure what was originally stated was when designing the character's Rush was aimed at an eastern Audience in appearance and The Conqueror was aimed at the western audience.

Moreover, I'm really enjoying the game. Installing the game really does take away some of the frame rate issues, and the battle system is enjoyable. It's basically similar to Final Fantasy or any other turn based system, you select what to do with each unit, and then watch it unfold. The story starts to pick up more after the Blackdale (sp) events, and apparently gets even better on the second disc. The quests, also nice when you just want to go ahead and do your own thing. Map system is similar to FFT/Lost Odyssey, you select an area and it takes you there. Even cities have a "City Map" where you select which portions of the city to go to. Only things I can do without are the constant load times, and the way Rush runs. Other than that, game seems pretty solid!
