Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Ok, so i've been addicted to this game ever since I picked up the PS3 version yesterday. Initially I purchased it for the Wii since I really don't care enough for the Star Wars Genre to completely beat every aspect of the game for achievements etc. However, while the initial experience was enjoyable, I found the boss fights and mini-boss fights to be near impossible with the Wii Controls.

After I returned it and promptly picked up the PS3 version, I must say the combat is visceral and the game play very enjoyable. On the PS3 I am currently playing it through on the hard difficulty and it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of blocking & dashing with the apprentice.

Anyway, long story short I would strongly recommend buying this game if you enjoy Star Wars in any way/shape/form. There is something to be said about picking up a Jawa and throwing him across the room while he screams that makes me smile inside.

before I just went back and started looking for holocrons I missed and doing the training room (fuck the push challenge btw). Anyway, really fun game.

Must say I was not surprised at the ending. Still a very good, albeit short game. I beat it the same day I got it. Now I guess I'll go back and look for the holocrons I missed.

You can unlock all of the lightsaber crystals and costumes by collecting holocrons in the different levels, and completing parts of the story. The training modules are helpful in the xbox version only because you get achievement points for completing the modules.

For all its glaring flaws and glitches (the xbox version is buggy as hell) the game is still a lot of fun. Admittedly, I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan though. If you're not a fan, it would be worth a weekend rental, that's about it.

I managed to complete the PS3 version yesterday on the 'hard' difficulty, i forget the actual name I just know I notched it up from whatever it started at. Anyway, overall if I wasn't a fan of Star Wars I don't think I would have picked this up for the price but I wasn't disappointed. The game play was smooth and very fun, especially once you get to the later stages of the game. I went the whole God of War route and maxed out Lightsaber Damage, Force Repulse, and Force Lightning. If you can manage that along with maxing the rate at which you regain force power, the game is pretty easy.

In the end I have to say that I don't think i've enjoyed a Star Wars platformer this much since Shadows of the Empire for N64 (to a lesser extent, Super Empire Strikes Back for the SNES) so I was very pleased with Force Unleashed. Oh, and Knights of the Old Republic is a very good game as well, but I wouldn't compare it to Force Unleashed since it's an RPG.

Oh, and Knights of the Old Republic is a very good game as well, but I wouldn't compare it to Force Unleashed since it's an RPG.

I really wish they would just bite the bullet and make Knights of the Old Republic III. Let's face it, that game would end up being a bestseller just based on the Star Wars brand alone.

This game's kind of starting to bug me now, I hate doing some ridiculously awesome looking shit (beginning of the last level for instance) and then falling down some hole or falling down a 10 foot chasm and fucking dying, that's so stupid

Yea, honestly the PS3 version seems to fair a bit better than the 360 one from my experience. I did get bugged when you're knocked back and you fall down a chasm or something. Aside from that though I loved the game, force lightning on Jawas is more fun then it should be... >_>;

i don't mean bugged, i just mean that there are areas where you can fall off the map and then die immediately, even aside from the rest of the shit that you can do (mass rape and getting shot at and surviving included)

The first KoTOR was amazing, but the title took a dump in II when Bioware left. From what I remember, the gameplay was identical to I, and the story was worse.
