Anyone else have a hard time taking out Mr. Burke if you turn him in to Simms? I had to reload a couple of times because he would hit Simms like three times and kill him. Finally I just started shooting as soon as Burke stood up and took him out before he got Simms. So far I'm really enjoying the game. I just went to the Super Duper Mart or whatever it's called. Reactivated the robot and led the few remaining raiders right into his path. And promptly watched my robot implode.

I still haven't done a few of the opening side quests yet. As of so far though the game looks beautiful, especially considering I just got my 40 inch flatscreen hdtv last week. So everything I play looks amazing.

They're fun and don't take anything away from the game? What do you have against them that incites such rage? Seriously.

It's not rage.

It's just some people always bring up that Xbox has Achievement Trophies! and that PSN doesn't when a title is multi-platform. Like it's an important game feature that makes or breaks a game. I don't go after achievements, I just play through my game.

I REALLY like this game, glad I picked it up. I just met the Brotherhood of Steel and got the killshot on that super big mutant yesterday (love my Sniper Rifle and Assault gun), but didn't get any exp for it. I also was quite happy since I finally found Dogmeat while wandering around last night (I was looking for him as soon as I left Vault 101, love my animal companions). He is in the

Scrapyard, you have to save him and then he uh..."talks" to you kinda.

I felt a lot better taking out the Feral Ghouls in the city/subway area with him around, they kinda creep me out with the way they move and sound. Dogmeat will stay by me wherever I can take him, I've heard that a lot of people have been losing him after they send him out supply hunting, with no notification that he "died".

I like Oblivion's setting more, but pretty much everything else is better in Fallout 3, and I love Oblivion. I was worried it would end up like Mass Effect with boring combat and dungeons/places that looked too similar, but everything seems very different from everywhere else. The Minefield is nothing like the Highway or Megaton, for example, and having a compass with enemy detection/V.A.T.S. makes navigating and combat better. I have to be a bit smarter with my money than in Oblivion though since there's not as many easy money makers like potion making, and less people are around in the beginning to sell stuff to. It also kinda sucks that there's no equivalent to a "Heal" spell to cut down on item use, that makes me need to use lots of Stimpacks or build up my Rad rating on food, and both need money that I don't have a ton of. That DOES add to the "Wasteland" atmosphere though, so I guess it was intentional.

I think I have my GOTY. I can see myself playing/replaying this for a long time.

Just because you don't see it as a selling point doesn't mean others don't. They're a fun way to squeeze more time out of a game (especially if you're like me and don't tend to replay games often), I'll often go back to games I enjoy to pick up some more achievements. It wouldn't suade my purchase personally, but there's tons of people out there who would buy one version over the other for them.

I found a lot of bugs but I assume they're shared amongst all versions. For example, if you 'bump' someone while they're in the middle of a scripted conversation, you break the script.

I tried cutting in line to submit my GOAT and when I stuck around to hear what happened to Butch, his conversation was cut short when the NPC behind him 'bumped' him because I'd pushed him out of the way in line earlier, giving the NPC behind Butch no choice but to ram into him along his predetermined path. So now I'm being careful about bumping into NPCs and that's kind of hard to do :D

I tried bumping into people to mess with their speech like you said you saw and I havent interrupted anyone. As well as the butch thing, didnt happen to me.

Are you talking about a hunting rifle? I havent seen a scoped rifle yet.

Im about 25 hours into the game and I absolutly love it, I had great expectations for it and they have been met and exceeded.

Also, Krandor do you have to keep the bobbleheads in your inventory to keep the stat upgrades?

25 hours without the Sniper Rifle? O.o I don't know if I would've been able to do it. The sniper rifle is by far my favorite gun, Hunter rifle is to slow and weak for my taste.

Was the second weapon I got, about 10 minutes after I started. Guess you might wanna check around vault 101 again if you haven't got it yet.

And you don't have to keep the bobble heads on you. I put em in my house.

Yeah I have my rifle now and I keep that baby in top shape, love that thing, the hunting rifle is useful as well.

Also yeah I tested out the bobble head thing and found out you didnt, I didnt think you did but was qorth a question.

Nah, I'm refering to a scoped sniper rifle. You get one from killing an enemy named Arkansas in the mine field.

To be honest, there is not really any reason TO keep Simms alive. Even if you haven't Disarmed the bomb, you would just complete it with his son instead (if he gets killed by Burke).

I agree. Actually I prefer Simm's to die. I kept used his hat till for most of the game.

I don't know, what are you doing with Burke to make it a hard fight? I was level 2 and I blew his head off with one shot.

Anyone runnng on dual monitors experiencing any problems?

Tried running it on my 22 inch secondary since it looks poop on my 19 inch primary and I got a few crashes here and there when loading up some areas.
Minor annoyances though.

Before you ask, the 22 inch is a TV/Monitor combo with all my consoles plugged into it so I can use my PC and a Console without switching inputs on a VGA box.

Fallout 3 is getting dangerously close to replacing MGS4 as my favorite title of the year. I still wish I could be a pimp. And not being able to beat people unconscious / fight without killing is a huge turn off. My next character will be Kenshiro... maybe that will push it over the edge.
