mojito's for me
I like to mix green tea liquor with mt. dew too, yummy.
Snake Bite
I've found that my tastes vary with the seasons. In summer I'm all over margaritas and mojitos, in fall and winter it's all about martinis and white russians and other things that fall into that vein.
If you like fruity and refreshing you might enjoy Blue Hawaiians, those can be pretty good with a good pineapple juice (not that gross crap that they sometimes bars put into their soda guns) and a good vodka.
strawberry daiquiri
on a side note, do people really get hangovers?
The lower the number of ingredients, the better. Bartenders love it when you order simple drinks, and you're more likely to get quicker service if you order something easy to make like a rum and coke versus something with many ingredients (can't think of anything off the top of my head).
I'm partial to bourbon on the rocks. Pretty simple, sipping drink.
Whisk(e)y
-----------
Manhattan
Old Fashioned
Mint Julep
Whiskey Sour
Gin
-------
Martini (please use a reasonable amount of Vermouth, not that extra dry shit that everyone thinks they like, and for the love of god don't use Martini and Rossi brand, shit's foul)
Ramos Gin Fizz
Aviation
Negroni
French 75
Pegu
Singapore Sling
Rum
-------------
Between the sheets
Caipirinha (Cachaca is technically a type of rum, just made from the direct cane sugar instead of the refined molasses or something like that)
Cubra Libre
Mojito
Mai Tai (the real way, the only juice is lime, and please have some orjeat syrup)
Cognac
-------
Neat, in a snifter (but ok, that's not a cocktail)
Sidecar
There are many other drinks I enjoy. These are just a few. All drinks should be made with fresh squeezed juice, and none of that Rose's sweetened lime juice rubbish. Also, no triple sec unless it's Cointreau (though I do need to taste Citronage by Patron, I hear it's nearly the same, and half the price).
Bartenders hate me...until they see how much I tip them.
Long Island Iced Tea, truly a godsend :D
For those who don't know, same as Adios Motherfucker (posted above) but with Triple Sec instead of Curacao and Coke instead of Sprite
Top 5 in no particular order:
Vodka and Sprite
Rum and Coke
White russian
Bloody Mary
Sex on the Beach
The only thing I ever drink anymore is brandy/water.
I see many variations of Long Island Iced Tea's, up here it's made like so.
1 shot of each of your 5 white liquers, rum, gin, vodka, tequilla and tripple sec. Fill large glass with ice, fill almost to top with lemonade then just add a little coke for the coloring to make it look like Iced Tea.
Personally for me, rum & coke or Jack Daniels straight up. One of my LS members was saying that they made Absenth(sp) legal in some states now, always wanted to try but never seen it anywhere. Anyone here ever try it and if so what's your take on it?
