I love BLM in campaign. I can cap XP easily on it. I toss some debuffs, dispel, nuke and wait for the mob to be around 5-10% and then get the killshot. Training a few mobs around Fort KNS also gets some good points. Toss a few cures and bammo, capped xp in campaign.

Edit: My rank is capped though too. Maybe that has something to do with it?

8/8 merits in scythe, my staff skill is around 140 (gonna max that since I have Vidohunir now). Maybe give staff a try after I get around to capping it...

BLM in campaign is nice and profitable if you have no regard for personal safety. Don't rely on sleepga though unless you're going for damage taken because I find helpful NPCs always willing to diaga.

Something very satisfying about sleeping and nuking an entire wave of orcs as they come over the bridge to vunkerl. Even if you don't last very long afterwards lol...

Now that I just dinged 75 on BLM, (I'm 1k into my level lol) I'm considering taking it to campaign for fun and a good solid buffer, so I'm really glad this thread came about. I'll probably sub WHM for the RR, because so far, on all my jobs, I get the most xp when I eat dirt and RR than not. I'll probably bring my Prudence Rod along for the fun and attempt to survive the onslaught of one or many mobs.

Big problem lately in Campaign is when I'm desperately trying to solo a mob and see just how long I can take a beating until my inevitable death (and RR), someone always comes and rips hate off me. GTFO SAMs, WARs, DRKs, MNKs. You can easily solo a mob yourself for a shitton more XP. I try to go to the barren zones, and people still rip hate from me, which is frustrating. On BLM though I might just try the -aga thing, sounds a hell of a lot more promising in terms of quick painful death and a ton of xp in the process.

I had this same problem, untill i discoverd.....yea..you need to be suicidal, one day i just went aga crazy, seems the more agas you do, the more points you get, it seems to count all the mobs you acttually hit rather then just single nuking 1-2 mobs, because i remember walking out of a 20-30 minute campign with a bit over 2k exp if you are brave (and have lots of RR) i'd try that.

Nah, magic damage by itself gains little points, perhaps like 1% or something. What it does give you is the nice attention of everything you hit, who will come over to give you some preferential treatment. This is what gives you your points, even for silly things like tossing some dust on you. The longer you can stay alive with so many things hitting on you, the more points you get, hence the ga3.

It's pretty hard staying alive with 6 things smacking on you as blm no less, but i found out that by tanking as MNK and RDM in campaign that more damage you take the more you get, unless you have alot of - DMG gear as BLM you don't ussualy last long.

    I Go blm/dnc

staff/aspir drain. Drain + waltz for curing nuke a bit towards the end of mobs life and hope to get lucky.

BLM/RDM with a heavy damage reduction setup (Terra's, Cheviot, Sorc. Earring). Normal mobs will typically hit for around 50-80 damage a pop, and that can be mitigated easily through drain/cures. I've ended up more or less tanking some mobs this way.

But if you take less points over time and don't die, you get to cure yourself (points) and not have to wait for weakness to tank more shit (wasting points !). =P

Edit: Damnit, fat taru beat me =/

Then don't die? That's an important part too.

you can play with aoe more, if you stick to zones with.. taru combat casters? mage merc that spam offensive magic with Kayeel-Payeel? one of the taru generals that spam -ga spells(usually at W. Saru iirc). either way you can keep up with sleepga/ga nukes with the NPCs without pulling hate off them. you could also bring train abunch of mobs onto him for having intial hate pts, then snipe the killshots.

Do the cheesy Drown, Burn, Rasp, Shock, Frost enfeebles. They're tallied at 15 exp per with a max of 40. Go go simple 600 exp. And yes, resists still count. I know I spam those and cures as WHM/BLM in Campaign and can get 800-900 exp doing that as lvl 55.

As for when I do Campaign on my BLM, I just find a big group of mobs and -aga III them all. When my ensuing taru beatdown happens, I also take mass dmg which goes towards the cap. So I lose 30 possible exp for the death, but I've also just handed out some mass dmg and took a bunch in return.

    Hope that helps.
richybear! this advice is helping me get my blm up quicker so thank you, trying the enfeebles you mentioned, i'll let you know how they work out.

Nearly all of what's posted is before the mad nerfs and buffs took place in campaign. Buffs don't really do crap for points anymore.

On the other hand, maybe I too am going to pull away from the "try not to die" mentality and have fun with Manifestation. I open all of my battles with drain and then Bliz IV Bliz IV Bliz IV. And get shitty points ~_~. I get a ton when I cure though. During all this, Im not taken damage.

Scratch that. I need to use /BLM >_>.

With Terra's Staff, Phalanx, and damage reduction (Jelly Ring, Cheviot Cape) gear you can beat the piss out of regular mobs just fine and stay alive. Aquaveil is quite useful too.

A nuke or two, Stun, Blind, and Dispel all will keep the mob beating on you over most other people you'll probably run into doing Campaign.

ahhh campaign on BLM, the only time i get to be suicidal and not care.... (though if a lot of ppl are around, i tend not to be too suicidal since aoe ga spells end up pulling the mobs off the wall and they go on a mass killing spree) --- though i do chuckle at times when other blms do it XD
