Meteora can you explain this part? I had no idea you could link up with others via PS3... if i am understanding you i have really missed something. Looking into it now, but can you elaborate a bit?
EDIT: Nevermind, upcoming firmware adding ad-hoc for PSP. Got it. That MIGHT just get me back into this game, i played 2, and then 2G before the patches were out there. I burned out after a few months... but then i played 2 forEVER. Amazing and very very very longlasting game.
Dissidia, Kingdom Hearts, King of Fighters Collection, Samurai Showdown Anthology, 3rd Birthday (New Parasite Eve game), Final Fantasy Agito XIII, and a bunch of multiplatform releases (though the quality of those can be highly variable).
If they can make the PSP-3000 unhackable (unlikely but who knows), I think 3rd party support will jump up. Sony sold ALOT of hardware when Capcom released 2nd G in Japan, so the installed hardware base is huge, they just have to convince developers to release games for it in the face of heavy piracy.
Not to knock your list but most of that we wont see for a year and the biggest problem is it costs just as much to make a PSP game as it does a standard console game will smaller profit to be made. The instal base is high in Japan but isnt what it should be here, its hands down the best handheld to date yet publishers are hard to find to develop for it outside first party, capcom and SE.
I forgot to add valhala Knights 2, thats lookin pretty good, although graphicaly it could look better.
Power Stone 2.
Also I wasnt counting multiplatform titles, because really would rather play those on a console in High def etc than on a hand held, I dont travel much and such so wouldnt be worth it for me personaly, each person is diffrent is here.
I know I seem it a bit negative but im not trying to be, I love the PSP, just wish it had better 3rd party support, even then it still has better support than the wii does.
Thinking of picking up a 3000 series sometime this week. I have a few games I've decided on, but was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the DJ Max series and Mega Man: Powered Up.
The difficulty isn't what gets me, it's the god awful camera/controls.
What weapons do you guys use? The Great Sword is ridiculously slow and hard to aim with. I tryed the dual swords but they're kind of annoying too.
Sorry for the necro but I didn't want to make a new thread for this.
Don't forget Tales of Eternia. Its hands down one of my favourite games. The battle system for the tales games is pretty similar to that of Crisis Core, but better. You should check it out.
Other games, Legend of Heroes series, and Brave story were pretty cool as well. Metal gear PO was also pretty fun, reminded me of MGS1.
Gonna hijack this thread as well! Basically, I want to get a PSP, but I'm wondering if it's worth dishing out more cash for a 3000 series or if I should just get a highly affordable refurbished PSP (not 3000). Also, is custom firmware available on the 3000 series like it is on regular PSPs?
PSP-3000 has some new protection in it that will likely keep it from being hacked for awhile. It uses an older model of motherboard that *is* hackable, but it has additional security measures in place that so far no one has figured out how to get around.
The screen is brighter/has more vibrant colors, but it comes at a slight cost. There are apparently noticeable interlacing in some stuff when you have fast moving video/gameplay. The PSP-1000/2000 don't have this, but they will have ghosting instead, so it's sort of a matter of opinion.
What's the difference between the 1000 and the 2000?
Patapon is very cool but it is a rhythm game so if you're like me (with very little rhythm) you might just hit a wall.
If you didn't get the remake of Final Fantasy that's also a gem and usually you can get it cheap.
PSN get Puzzle Quest that shit is addictive as hell.
2000 is slimmer, has the ability to output video and sound (cord sold separately and videogames only through composite,) and has faster loading speeds for some games. Might have a couple other things that the 1000 didn't but I can't remember.
