With 8/8 katana, bomblet, peacock over hope torque, standard haste gear, snipers+1 and hauby+1 I'm at high enough accuracy to use meat for about anything NIN is a decent DD on. Cuchulain's gives me another bump in accuracy, cerb+1 does next to nothing while berserk is up(granted I only party with brd+cor or brdx2). I suppose you could switch between them when berserk is on or off, if you had both and were that concerned with perfectionism.

    Amemet +1
(Fuck you cerb for not having ranged attack)

On thief and probably ninja, I could certainly make use of cuchulains. Then again, I hardly use either of them for stuff where i'm swinging my weapons.

I could see Cuchulain's for a maxed out Dex build which was missing one or two of the ideal pieces.

You have around the same setup I have. Mamool Ja NIN Lvl 81-83 cap out at 430-450 acc depending on level. You're looking at 40-60% acc on those without sushi. You get about 85% on Trolls but on MNK & Pups only about 65%. On birds, you still need a little more acc because those cap at around 400.

My "standard" TP build includes Haub +1, Bomblet, dual Sniper's +1, and Peacock Charm. That isn't enough for NIN.

Cuchulain's is obviously meant for a Ridill DEX build. Critical hits go!

Buy it and give to a BLU friend, and wear your Forager's and Cerb's(+1).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong in the following statements:
5 acc will give you another 2.5% hite rate unless your total acc is not between 20% & 95%.
15 attack is affected by level correction of mobs higher than your level and benefit less the higher the mob level is.
15% acc > 25% attack on mobs where 15% does not put you over the acc cap because we use sushi over meat miths on these same type of mobs.
    Which I can conclude that 3% acc > 5% attack. Therefore 6 accuracy > 5% attack simplified to 5 accuracy > 4.16% attack?

So does 15 attack give 4.16% attack?

Mobs that are low level: Yes?
    Mobs that same level: No
Mobs that are high level: No

And then let's not forget about the 4 dex?

Ok, according to what you just said Cuchulain's mantle is 3.5% hit rate (7 accuracy) increase for 1 handed weapons, 4% hit rate (8 accuracy) increase for 2 handed weapons

Sushi is accuracy+15%, is this equivalent to hit rate+15%? You just said that it is:

I'm fairly certain a 3% increase to accuracy is more than a 3% increase in hit rate (assuming acc is not capped), considering 2 acc = 1% hit rate increase.

It's 6am and I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like.

I could just be dumb, but your reasoning doesn't make any sense to me :/

15% acc > 25% attack on mobs where 15% does not put you over the acc cap because we use sushi over meat miths on these same type of mobs.
Speak for yourself. I know if I have to use sushi on any endgameish event on Thief, I'm not going to hit anything for any damage worth a damn. I have to use meat and I have to compensate for it.

According to my parses, THF does more damage with ~80% acc and meat than it does with ~95% acc and sushi anyway.

If you're using sushi, you do NOT want to be using this mantle, if that's one of your points (very confused <_<); that 15atk will be even bigger than it'll be using meat. Using meat... this mantle may come close, but I'd still rather stockpile attack here and put accuracy in other places.

Your first statement is correct, however the rest aren't.

Level correction for atk/def ratio (cRatio) works by subtracting 0.05 per level higher the mob is than you from your cRatio. This would actually make adding attack have a bigger effect on higher level mobs than ones that are EM or lower that are not subject to level correction.

Lets say at level 75 you had 400 attack against a level 82 mob that had 400 defense. In this case, cRatio would be 400/400 - 0.35 (level correction) = 1 - 0.35 = 0.65
    Now add 15 attack to the above case for 415/400 - 0.35 = 1.037 - 0.35 = 0.687 cRatio

0.687 cRatio is a 5.7% improvement over 0.65 cRatio even though your attack stat only went up by 3.75% in this case as a result of the level correction function so level correction is actually making adding attack more potent on higher level mobs, not less.

As mentioned above, sushi is +15% to your accuracy total, not +15% hit rate. +15% accuracy from sushi actually turns out to be considerably more than +15% hit rate at 75. If your total accuracy (factoring in combat skill, DEX, and accuracy bonuses) is lets say 320, 15% of 320 is 48, which is added to your total accuracy stat giving you 368 total accuracy. +48 accuracy would actually be +24% hit rate.

In my opinion, I believe a cerb mantle +1 will outperform cuchulain's in most situations assuming dealing damage is your primary goal. The higher your cRatio is, the closer the gap is as adding 15 attack will boost your cRatio by a smaller percentage the higher it is, while cuchulain's will always give +3.5% hit rate for 1 hand weapons or +4% for 2 hand weapons as long as you haven't capped hit rate. I'm sure there is a point where cuchulain's mantle would be better for overall damage but I don't think this would happen in a typical merit party situation.

It’s not particularly complicated and really depends on what you’re trying to do. Specifically on a job like NIN, if you were trying to explore an attack food setup, an ACC back piece like this is pretty much a necessity with the current state of things.

Based on some observations I’ve made in the past, using the Usukane set, then adding a mantle like this along with other reasonable accuracy additions (i.e rings +1) it becomes feasible to use an attack food and still maintain 85%+ hit rate in a camp like Jade sepulcher (typical buffs, i.e madrigal on lurkers/nin mobs). Though, I’d predict that such a setup would likely produce about similar, maybe slightly lower out put when compared to the usual sushi setup here.

The same equipment setup also pretty much removes the need for madrigal as a NIN in a camp where it isn’t practical to use sushi like colibri. This allows you to use the typical marchX2 minuetX2, while still maintaining 90%-ish hit rate.

It’s a good piece. I’d certainly have a use for it. I was actually trying for Aileron mantle before this was added. As you people like to say “shit is situational”

You people? You people?! YOU PEOPLE??? Seriously though, I was also trying for aileron. I probably still will, considering this won't be widespread available for a long time.. 0/84 gogogogo

Cuchulain's Mantle for my BLU physical spells, amemet +1 for melee because it's not ridiculously expensive like Cerberus +1 is (I'm not made of money like some people are).
