Seeing a few for 3k on Kujata. I hope that trend continues... I'm waiting for 1k each before I consider buying any.

Yes, it is all situational. There isnt really a "right" answer here. I am not going out and preaching that prestige items and being the first is completely worthless, nor am I stating that anyone that completes quickly is a moron. I responded to posts claiming spending 200mil+ on mythic is silly, which it is. The guy that pays 3 times the price for a new car to get it a month before everyone isnt awesome or really cool, he is a jackass, overcompensating for other things.
    lolwat.

There's no right answer, except the person who beats you is a jackass because he spent millions of gil on shit because he chose to? ok.

I never once paid market price for my aegis currency. I could have finished a year earlier had I been willing to spend an extra 100mil on rolanmart ripoffs. Those prices are only for the permanant stage2/3 morons that have no hope of ever finishing. The difference between a relic upgrader and a relic owner is being smart with your gil. Mythic follows the same principles.
About 60% of my currency came from Rolanberry, yes some was bought at a higher price than what is usual, I did not care, did I get beyond stage 3? Yes. All in all I think I blew 10 million more than I could have if I waited for the "right" prices, fact also is that would have taken another 2 months or so and after 3 months in Rolanberry I didn't have the patience for that. There came a point where I could fart out gil faster than currency popping for reasonable prices. So the choice became simple: wait for right prices or blow this gil I have no other purpose for on slighty above normal price? I left the harder price jackers alone, but 50-100k more for a 100: sure. The other 40% came from my shell (20 100's) and from shells I made deals with for good prices or else it would have been more than that 10 million "wasted". I don't consider it wasted, but others probably would. I'm just happy being out of the currency market and being able to use a relic I wanted for quite some time. Don't have to be smart with your gil to finish a relic/mythic, just need buffer gil so you can be stupid with it =D

On topic, rolanmart, Ragnarok, linkshells sell for the low end of this range:
    O. Pieces: 10-12k
Tukuku: 7-8k (some try to sell for 9k but those never sell)
Bynes: 5-6.5k (7k's are left alone)

Alexandrites: 4-5k (sold mine for 4.5k)

Now let's say there are 1000 new alexandrites everyday (also fairly conservative). 1.5 mil / 1k = 1,500 days. 750 days if you double the in. And that assumes no alexandrites are wasting away in a bazaar, in MH, or on weapons that won't ever be upgraded.
I'm actually not wrong, because you're not taking some things into account. Someone seriously upgrading, is gonna be looking for salvage LS. One that runs as many days as possible. And hopefully a salvage LS that upgrades it's members rather than sells.

So, you're not taking into account the alexendrite that people are keeping. We've already run the numbers: 100 alex per run, 7 days a week = 700 a week(assuming an LS is upgrading 1 member at a time). That means about 42 weeks to upgrade. This same person who is seriously upgrading, will also buy. And let's say they buy 1 alex for every one they get from their LS. Now you're looking at 21 weeks. About 4 and a half months. Less if they buy even more.

Now, provided they are also working on beastman kings, assaults, and einherjar in this time, they'll probably have a couple of months of just alex collecting, once they are done with the other steps. So if they are smart, they'll go casually and cheap, just because rushing *may* only save a month or two, and cost twice as much.

This isn't like a relic, where # of currency determines your upgrade speed. There's a whole lot of other stuff to do.

Which brings me back to my original question which you didn't answer: What do you think of someone who pays 5k for something, when they can easily get it for 2k? Or what do you think of someone who pays $15,000 for a plasma TV, when they can go next door and get the exact same model it for $5000?

More like 60~ per run. Also, 'sponsoring' a salvage run is easier said than done. With an event such as salvage where the entry cost lies on each member, it's difficult to designate or even prioritize who gets the first mythic, who gets next, etc. If you consider the amount of time it takes to finish a mythic weapon, it's rather difficult to even guarantee everyone in a salvage group their turn to 'sponsor' salvage for 6months+.

The most fair way to handle this is to obviously divide up the alexandrites at the end of each run and let people do as they wish with them, whether that means selling them in rolanberry or selling them to other members for a good deal.

Lastly, who sells alexandrites for 2k? Seriously, who?! I need names!!

I've seen over 150 a run. It all depends on which area you do. In the end, I took an average of 100. And it may be difficult to designate which mythic to focus on, but it is possible. All you need a is a group of friends, and some focus on who wants a mythic and who wants a relic. In this race to be "first mythic", you'll find plenty of groups trying to race to get the first Burtang, etc.

Yes, because people will tell you their sources of getting cheaper alexandrites, so that other people can get them. /sarcasm

Do some thinking. Do some research. Or just read the thread where people have already told you how.

Having seen 150 in a run does not equate to 100 avg. per run. We've killed about 7-8 salvages bosses since the update, and have seen exactly 1 linen pouch. Add in the fact that many groups cannot consistently kill the boss every run, and the average I mentioned earlier is about right for most people.

My group has had an average of a little over 50 drites a run with full clears of all NMs and boss in each zone (rotating through the zones). Our big so far was a bhaf rampart/boss run with alotof NM pops and linen off boss totaling about 137 drites. Our lowest was a no NM pop bhaf with 13 drites total >.>

I swear they should have just made a point system attached to salvage and there would never have been a problem. Sure make it take 1-1.5 years to complete a mythic but make it so a 6 person group can do it together. If you want to "group" together it's gonna take a year of salvage easily for each person so a group a 6 people working on mythics is going to be easily 7-8 years of work. Are you fucking kidding me, how are people ok with that?

It's funny how people are arguing with each other when all of everyone's anger and frustration should be aimed directly at SE for the ridiculous alexandrite requirement. SE wins again.

It's bad enough we have to redo all those fucking assaults, I seriously don't want to have to escort professor shitface mcgiggles out of that place one more time, or feed some whiney bitch mercenaries, or even go near a god damn pool with one orobon in it, even if it means getting a bloody relic.

    /vent off.

But yeah, 30mil (at 1k each) ontop of that, even if you are buying from the LS or group you go with, and the rate they drop at, is fucking lol. 10k? Maybe. But yeah, this is SE's fault, not the sellers. Sometimes.

So everyone spam the hell out of the SE response emails for lowering of alexandrites cost and bring it up in every fucking interview we have?

Or quit bitching and move on?

30m for a mythic weapon? That's pretty cheap compared to a relic weapon.

For the lower end groups, yes. For a dedicated group of friends who know what the fuck they are doing, consistant kills aren't a problem.

And I can understand how you might be confused about my wording, but that 150+ has happened more than a single run. Yes, there are runs that get 50ish. There are runs that get 150ish. Quick, what's the average between 150 and 50?

This this omg fucking this. I have a friend who rocks at this, he gets like ~3 apkallu per run while the rest of us sit around scratching our asses because we have no fucking clue how to make the fucker even like us without giving it a blowjob or something retarded like that. Shit, I hate that assault.

To actually contribute, I don't know a single person on Siren who is upgrading a mythic weapon yet =( Anyone out there?

Nope, and it's pretty much impossible for anyone to get one for at least a month or two.
