On Remora, alexandrites are around 6k. I've seen a range of 5k-9k though.

Have we determined that 30,000 Alexandrite is even needed? For a while Wiki (that other wiki) said that "some objectives needed to be meet" then it changed to "all" then it was changed back to an "unknown number" objectives. Could it be like the ToAU entry quest where you needed to choose one or the other?
That's actually a great idea, but seriously doubt it'll ever happen cuz for the most part Salvage ppl suck, well atleast in my xp. I'm 8/12 on ingots and would love an are's body, but I'm also 0/3 on pieces. Now w/ that in mind this is why Salvage ppl suck, I join a shell say tomorrow, and Joesuckass who's done 3 more runs with the shell than I have has "priority" on the body pieces cuz he's done more runs, fact of the matter is Joesuckass has prolly done a 100 runs, but Joesuckass never has more than 100k at a time cuz Joesuckass still farms beastman bloods in pashhow and Joesuckass will prolly never upgrade when he gets all 3 pieces, or if he does it won't be until Dec. '09. Salvage sucks, I'll never have an Are's body cuz ppl will always give pieces I need to Joesuckass, sad if you ask me, I run my own dyna ls, it's like me doing a glacier run but just spend all my points on a valor cape and we do attestations and the one drops for aegis but I give it to Joesuckass cuz he has the points but has a relic shield, no currency and no money while I have a Dynamis Shield and a good portion of the currency I need to go with that attestation. Please if there's a salvage group on sylph server (that's not tryin' to sell me the pieces for way too much gil) that has some sense about these things plz give me a /tell. Oh, and also, sorry for preaching lol, just these kinda things just piss me off, I'd be happy joining a group of ppl who actually aren't all broke and have the means to do something with the pieces they get, cuz yes, I actually know quite a few ppl who are 3/3 and have been for a long time and are at best w/ one ingot, I might be only 8/12 but could have the rest in a week, 2 weeks if I'm being lazy. The next time you do salvage look around at your group, and ask yourself, how many of these ppl are actually competent enough to make the gil needed to upgrade without taking an eternity, if you can't identify with what I'm saying I'm 99.99% sure your one of these ppl. That's why salvage sucks. One more thing, this is a discussion on alexandrite and dyna currency so I'll comment, since the update it's all still way over priced on Sylph server, so there ya have it.
my brain hurts.
I heard Joesuckass sucks ass.
The obvious answer is to create your own salvage group and give prioritory to those that are capable of Upgrading.
Phoenix Alex prices : Theres someone shouting to buy for 3500 quite often so until this person buys up all he can afford and transfers it to his main char it isnt gonna go down![]()
1. I can't believe I actually read that clusterfuck of a post.
2. Wow, and I thought I was being emo about Salvage. >.>
What Rya said - start your own group. That's what I did once I stopped being so damn emo about it, and we've already completed a Morrigan's Robe, Usukane Legs and I'm 2/3 on Ares Cuirass (f'in LBC doesn't drop Phobos's Cuirass. Swear to God).
As for the topic at hand, Alexandrites I mostly see between 4k and 5k on Valefor these days - a few people still try to sell them for 5k+, but I think that's more of a "I might as well hang onto this, unless someone actually buys them for this price, woo."
My group splits all the alexandrites evenly every run, and it's working on great for us so far.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ?
This is a false dichotomy. The third option design-wise that for some reason no one ever seems to remember is to do upgradeable gear, where you have to do content A to get piece A and then do content B to upgrade A to A+1. In fact, we already have this; it's called Limbus and seems to be pretty well-liked by the playerbase in general. The main complaint I hear about Limbus is the lack of instancing, which is of course the fault of SE being years behind the rest of the world rather than being inherent in the upgrading concept itself. Admittedly upgrading can also be done badly (CoP Dynamis, with it's adding randomness on top of the randomness of getting the base piece you want), but the same randomness fixation can screw over either of the first two design paths.
Didn't want to start new thread.
Well, couple months already passed since last Dynamis entry fee nerf and Alex Alexandrites purse introduction. Does anything changed on other servers?
On Ramuh Alexandrites price pretty much drop to 3-4k, with some 2.5k execeptions. On the contrary Dynamis currency go up to 6k-13k (6k Bynes, 10k Bronzes, 13k Shells) - quite unexpected ...or not![]()
I was wondering did anything change on other servers.
Alexandrites have started to fall on Midgard from 5k to 3.5k if you are lucky. Dynamis currency has jumped up high as well. From 4k byne, 6k tuku, 8k ordelle, it looks now more like 6k byne, 8-10k tuku, and 12-15k ordelles.![]()
2-3.5K now for Alexandrites. Dynamis currency went up slightly.
Phoenix seems to have gone down to 3k each now. Which to me as a seller realy is not worth my time to sell for 3k might as well save these on a mule and try to get my own weapon. I would rather sell my alex for 3.5k-4k, since our prices tanked ill just keep them.
