The American subpar education system at work people. Most people don't know enough about English to realize X is pronounced like Z (well sometimes anyway). Though I didn't know about X being like "sh" though.

And Pso'Xja, the P is silent, like how the P is silent in the word "psychic."

Sorry I meant x = sh universally, not specifically to english. I think in english it is more commonly a z sound.

Not really a pronunciation, but I always thought it was funny that we have all adopted the new aht urgan nm system as ZNM (zeni notorious monsters) when we all know from our little goblin-pandemonium warden fiasco, that SE intended this nm system to be named ATNM (ex ATNM Test as the goblin was named)

My old ls once got in a discussion over whether to pronounce Jeuno "Juno" (as in the Ellen Page teen preggers flick) or "Huen-o" (Spanish Jue sound).

We never reached an agreement and eventually just settled on renaming it Beardick.

But then would you pronounce that Bear-dick, or Beard-ick?

I think it's funny how the actual pronounciation of Bastok is "Bastook". Completely threw me off when I heard that out loud.

Nope. It's in the intro video.

I mean that in the intro to the game the last syllable is spoken in a way that rhymes with duke.

    Edit: So it's Bas-touque.

Uh, if anything, the fact that you believe X can only be pronounced like Z is a better demonstration of disappointing education. Although the circumstances resulting in the K pronunciation are usually quite specific for the English language, it can be said that way in our tongue, and in other languages too.
