The American subpar education system at work people. Most people don't know enough about English to realize X is pronounced like Z (well sometimes anyway). Though I didn't know about X being like "sh" though.
And Pso'Xja, the P is silent, like how the P is silent in the word "psychic."
Sorry I meant x = sh universally, not specifically to english. I think in english it is more commonly a z sound.
Not really a pronunciation, but I always thought it was funny that we have all adopted the new aht urgan nm system as ZNM (zeni notorious monsters) when we all know from our little goblin-pandemonium warden fiasco, that SE intended this nm system to be named ATNM (ex ATNM Test as the goblin was named)
EX ZOMIT!
Ex zomit

My old ls once got in a discussion over whether to pronounce Jeuno "Juno" (as in the Ellen Page teen preggers flick) or "Huen-o" (Spanish Jue sound).
We never reached an agreement and eventually just settled on renaming it Beardick.
I hope by bastook you actually mean bas - toke.
Try this out.

The Finnish voice tends to read Japanese pretty well.
Gee-yalla-horn (say quickly)
Kwih-fim
Al-tay-oo
Roo-awn
Seh-ree-yoo
Tav-natz-ee-a (some people pronounce Tav-nayz-ee-a?)
This is kinda fun, actually.
Aspir: Ass-per or Aspire?
When I said So-Jah for Pso'Xja I mean a soft French J like "jsha" ;x
Gjallarhorn= G'yalləhorn. (Schwa!)
Aegishjalmr = assjammer or asshat for short. Fuck pronouncing that.
Misareaux = Miisarrrrrro.
Leviathan = LEE VIE AY A THUN. jk
Uh, if anything, the fact that you believe X can only be pronounced like Z is a better demonstration of disappointing education. Although the circumstances resulting in the K pronunciation are usually quite specific for the English language, it can be said that way in our tongue, and in other languages too.
