    Revival of Blaster Worm?

    Careful of this

    http://forums.techarena.in/windows-x...rt/1044943.htm

I have Windows XP Service pack 3 and starting yesterday I started getting
system shut downs about an hour after rebooting. The message is that the
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) terminated unexpectedly and NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
required a system shut down. Any idea what is going on and how to fix it?
Friend had this the other day. Make sure the RPC locator is not started. This is recent recent.

Its my understanding the worm has been floating around for years..... but the information it broadcast to/attacks is no longer valid, so the worm is useless. Its just a pain that it reboots

If thats just a normal dos shutdown command thats trying to be executed. When that pops up just runprompt shutdown -a and that will stop it from shuting down.
