New update coming tomorrow.
We are happy to announce that the SOCOM: Confrontation 1.20 Update will be released on Wednesday, October 29th, at 1200 GMT/UTC (8am EDT, 5am PDT, 1pm BST, 9pm JST).
The SOCOM: Confrontation 1.20 update addresses the following issues:
* Fixed many issues which would cause the game to crash, hang, disconnect and exit to the PS3 XMB.
* Fixed an issue which would cause large numbers of players in a high player count game to be simultaneously disconnected.
* Fixed an issue which would cause players to be invincible.
* Fixed a physics issue which would cause players to occasionally "warp" around on the map.
* Fixed an issue where a "corrupt save data" message would be incorrectly displayed after updating the game.
* Fixed some player model issues related to team swapping.
* Client/server optimization.
* Fixed an issue where the scope camera had an incorrect offset from the barrel of the gun while prone or leaning/peeking.
For players who have already downloaded and installed the 1.10 update, the 1.20 update is only ~50MB in size. For new players, the size is the 1.10 update plus the 1.20 update which is ~550MB.
The main purpose of this update is to address major stability and playability issues with the game. The stability of the game has been greatly improved with the 1.20 update. There are still a few low frequency issues which we are continuing to look into and will be addressed in a future update.
A lot of these issues, I've never encountered. But, they are fixing things. Guess we'll see the missing features in the upcoming weeks.
Awesome, about time!
I'm debating trading this in and just hoping the one by Zipper is better. For some reason I just am not into this one.
Zipper isn't making another one, they're making MAG.
zipper is definitely making another one

Sounds great to me. I was wondering where do most of you guys play at? Would be kinda cool to play against a few people who read the forums. Anyways, Slant Six is really trying, and it seems Socom is only going to get better with time. (They also mention how bad the launch was, for those who were wondering or cared.)
Should've bolded the reloading correction as well. 1.30 is welcome with open arms!
nice changes indeed
Awesome, cannot wait!
Mark your calendars!
Nov. 15th, Boycott Socom: Confrontation Day!
YAY!!!!!!
..... is anyone actually playing this game anyways?
What? Where did this "day" originate from? And why?
It came from the "offical" socom forums on the sony site. I guess people are tired of the "missing features promised apon release, and that are claimed on the box". I guess they are complaining that the game is still un-playable for some with the lag/bugs/glitches....and they are also pissed that alot of features were taken out of the retail release only to be added in at a later date by a patch (Box claims socom uses trophies, but there is no trophy feature etc.....)
Just picked this up yesterday primarily for the headset. Was wondering where the fuck the 1080p and Trophy support was that the back of the case was toting. ;/
Oh well, least the trophy support is finally coming, and hopefully that patch will fix the problem where 90% of the lobbies I join I auto-disconnect within 5 seconds. Really having a hard time trying to enjoy this when technical issues prevent me from even playing a game easily!
I play from time to time. But that bullshit where you don't respawn during infinite respawn games is really annoying and happens very often to me.
So they added Demolition Medley games, which is win. New update on Socom.com, basically saying 1.30 is almost done, it just has to be tested by SCEA. It also says they lowered round times from 8mins, to 6mins.
The new post is kinda interesting, had no idea so many people had to check off on a patch. Good stuff all around, enjoy.
