Hooking a 360 up to a computer screen?

I'm just wondering if this is possible, and if it is what kind of connection cords/slots/converters would I need to pull this off?

I'm not real worried about cords and such somehow I think that'd be the cheaper part of this idea but I'm just wondering if it's even possible to do it at all with any computer screen

You can get an official VGA Xbox Cable which does it for you.

assuming your monitor has VGA port! If it's just DVI i think you can use a VGA to DVI convertor, i think my VGA cable actually came with one, but i can't remember exactly.

Depends on the monitor too. Some have HDMI or component inputs, which would make it pretty simple. Depending on the monitor, an HDMI to DVI converter cable should work...but image quality may not be that great depending on the supported resolutions.

If you've got no RCA inputs on your system/speakers you might want to look for an RCA > 3.5mm Jack-Plug converter. They should be cheap as chips.

I had the VGA cable, good stuff especially if your tv natively supports the resolutions it does (720p,1080i or 1080p)

With VGA being an analog signal, do you see any difference in picture quality compared to using HDMI?

the official xbox360 VGA cable comes with RCA -> 3.5mm converter.

As for the picture quality it's hard to tell, i used the VGA cable before i had a HDTV on my PC monitor and the quality upgrade from standard was immense, but as for VGA > HDMI, i couldn't tell you since my 360 doesn't have the HDMI port and still uses the RCA RGB Cable in HD Mode.

Awesome, this was basically what I was looking for...mostly because computer screens are cheaper than TVs for relatively better quality (at least from what I've seen) so I'm thinking of spotting 110$ for another one of these screens that I already have and just hooking the xbawks to it

actually new question to tack on if anyone has a solution, I've got a speaker set at the moment and am now thinking that if I end up getting another monitor would I be able to put a splitter on the input cable for my speakers and possibly run both my xbox360 and computer out of the same set?
