What's the best attachment combo for stormwaker frame? since obviously cant equip all the ice attachment at once.

it depends what you're fighting really....
i tried omega the other day on pup, and i think i had like tranquilizer / and both loudspeakers
didnt need mana booster since i was deactivating it regularly, and didnt need scanner cause it was nuking bliz/fire anyways
i notice with scanner, depending on the mob, it either makes it cast correctly, or just breaks the pup and im better off not using it
before that i think i had the same setup for nq turtle lol...
when i solo'd the flowers in huxzoi as pup/sch, i used both loudspeakers, scanner, and ice maker i think, wasnt too many resists, and that was before i capped magic to get bliz4 (think i had aero4 only at the time)
basic attachments i always have equipped are optic fibre, condenser, shock absorber, and economizer, then play around with either both mana tanks, or manatank2 and mana conserver, then fill in other slots with random other crap
idk, it'd be interesting to see what other people use in certain situations
Stormwaker+BLM head, you mean?
Ice Maker
Loudspeaker II
Tranquilizer
***You do NOT need a Scanner when you're using BLM head. The AI of this head has a built-in Scanner.***
Condenser
Mana Channeler
Optic Fiber
Auto-Repair Kit
Mana Tank
Mana Tank II
Mana Conserver
The other slots can be filled with defensive shit like Mana Jammer, Shock Absorber, etc. When I apply BLM automaton, I am deactivating regularly to shed hate/avoid Aspir rendering the Mana Booster useless. The Condenser, Ice Maker and Mana Channeler together allow you to get an MAB bonus from Ice Maneuvers and Water Maneuvers while blocking potential overloads.
Tranquilizer, Loudspeaker II, Ice maker, Optic Fiber
Mana Converter, Replicator, Shock Absorber, Condenser
Economizer, Manaconverter. Mana tankII, Autorepair kit
Since we're on the subject of PUP, and I'm too lazy to make a thread, I just recently got Sharpshot frame and I'm wondering where to skill it up. I am currently lv11 and having it shoot things in Konschtat seems to be reaaaaaalllly slow. I'm wondering if it'd be better to skillup as I level up or just stick it out.
Any advice would be appreciated.
yep, /sch gives u enough skill to reliably sleep mobs, also using sublimation means i never need to rest after using mp needed to sleep, since resting = no pup nuking
its really an awesome sub, and with the amount of mage gear SE had given us from before, it works out great
as for skilling sharpshot, just sub pup to any job and go fight worms (started in KRT, but move on up as you would if u were xping on those worms), i did rdm/pup personally, and just kept hate on the worms
^ what Safer said.
PChan also hit it right on the head attachment wise. I also suggest you work on a solid ADD macro.
I believe mine is:
/ja "Activate" <me>
/wait 1
/pet "Deploy" <t>
/wait 9
/pet "Deactivate" <me>
This macro will ensure your maton is able to activate, nuke, and deactivate before a mob attacks it. Just make sure you activate from a reasonable range.
oh one thing about the blm head..... if you ever fight bombs (like BQ) you need the scanner for it to cast fire instead of ice or other magic lol.... no joke
i set up lobo with the -casting time and scanner and he spammed 350 fire3 and 500 fire4s on him, was awesome bc he took no dmg and tossed out over 1k every min.
edit: reason i didnt go for max casting is the dot seemed to be safer for hate and do about the same, if i had 3 ice up nukes do like 800s some 900s, but i couldent always keep 3 ice up;;
yeah, i'd say keep the scanner in mind when a mob has an exploitable weakness other than the puppet's highest spell. Even though it appears to have a built in scanner, it will decide the weakness more accurately with the scanner equipped. Sometimes having the scanner screws up casting patterns though, so its more of an AI altering attachment than anything. When i do omega I use:
LoudspeakerII
Tranquilizer
Ice maker
which takes up 6/7 slots
for water I use condenser and light i use optic fiber, and those are for when my ice burden gets near overload. I don't like to uses DAD too often because i've had too many situations where shit can hit the fan, leaving you with a 15+ minute wait.
If you are using ADD though, equip both mana tanks. That way you can get out 3-4 nukes before you need to deactivate for mp to avoid the aspir loop.
ya i am using DAD alot less as of late due to the kind of events im in. Things like nyzule i use blm pup and hes usually casting a drain every now and then lowering overall dmg;;, but i keep mp up fine with 7/7 attachements on and keeping darks up when running.
my static i just made was shocked to see blms dmg on mobs there lol. 1200 nukes on chariots and puddings rly speed things up. and best part is i have 0 opti merits and no af2 feet, so it only can get better (hello 30 mab).
