    Blue ray question

So i bought iron man on blue ray for the hell of it. And at the start of the movie when i first put it in. It seamed to take a while to load? Is that something that most of the movies do? I've watched one before and i don't remember it doing it. I think rush hour 3? Just thought id ask as it seamed weird for a movie to actually have to sit there and load.

how much load time are we talking about? Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to load up.

Also depends on the blueray player you have... I'm just gonna assume PS3?
The PS3 is actually a very good blueray player (not like how the PS2 was a PoS quality DVD player) so you shouldn't see loading times for movies. I've had some blue rays where it takes maybe 30~ seconds or so to load the UI, but nothing extensive for me to even notice any real pause.
Need to know how long your loading times is & ur current player!

ps3 and seriously it seamed to take a good time for it to load i'll try again later and time it. But it was just sitting there honestly i thought it froze. 2-3 min? Just sat there and all you saw was iron mans core. After that first few min though movie had no load times and moved flawlessly

I noticed a bit of an extended loading time when playing 'Forbidden Kingdom' on the weekend with my PS3; probably about 30ish seconds between starting the BD and the previews starting up.

Certain standards for BLU-Ray call for local storage for discs to put resources or to download updates to the content (BD-Live requiring 1GB). Iron Man is a BD-Live capable disc, so I would assume that the initial delay that you experienced was due to the disc copying..whatever it is that it copies over. If you look under the video section of the crossbar, there'd a BD management tool that lets you delete data that was copied over by discs, so that might shed some light on it.
