Any way to get a list of Compressed old files?

This has been bugging me for a while, I have it set to compress old files after 50 days, but this is taking up a lot of space. I'm wondering if there is a program out there that can give me a list of the files windows is compressing. I want to see if I can get rid of some (if not all).

I don't want to delete them and regret it, so i've just been putting it off. So, any ideas?

The compressed files aren't stored in a zip file, or anything else that you can open. Rather, they're displayed with a blue tint in Windows Explorer, and are decompressed automatically when you double-click them (or an application accesses them). Considering, if you surf through your most commonly-used directories and find blue files in them, you can delete them, back them up (right-click and decompress them first), or whatever you decide to do. They're not hidden anywhere, they should be in plain sight.

If you already know this, and really just want to know how to obtain a list of them, the "Compress Old Files" option works according to the date they were last accessed on. Unfortunately, I believe Windows doesn't let you sort its searches by that. You may find a list here, in your registry:

    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Explorer\Volume Caches"

I make no promises though, as I do not use this feature and can't verify this myself. I also suggest that you turn it off, as it's not saving you any space or time (and is probably slowing down your Windows performance). It's kind of an outdated feature whose usefulness has passed.

Hopefully, this will be of some help to you.
