You can customize your PoL Viewer BGM from Options > BGM. There are bunch of awesome tunes there!

Edit: macro info posted before.

Found this extremely helpful with songs since Pianissimo has been added.

Buffs: /ma "song name" <stpc>
Target yourself for AOE buffs, scroll through party list for Pianissimo.
Debuff: /ma "song name" <stnpc>
Take caution with this,especially at HNM. Don't accidentally cast on Darters or other unwanted adds.

(sorry if already posted)

For those that use Spellcast you could simply do

Code:
<if spell="*Ballad*|*Madrigal|other songs here">
<if BuffActive="Pianissimo">
<action type="changetarget" target="<stpc>" />
</if>
<else>
<action type="changetarget" target="<me>" />
</else>
</if>
This will change your target type to <stpc> if Pianissimo is up, otherwise <me>; no matter what the macro says.

You could make a rule for debuffs to, so it always targets <t>, <bt>, whatever you want.

/ta <stpt>
/ta <stal>

These will let you target people by scrolling a blue arrow over your party/alliance list. And if they flash out you wont lose target.

(Sorry if already in here, I just find it extremely useful)

Sea is a maze. No one likes stragglers. Stop getting lost in sea. You're gonna love these maps. Watch this.

These maps, they guide you places. They show where there are those annoying dead ends SE doesn't like us to know about when we're trying to lose aggro.
Spoiler: show
Btw, if you can't see the maps (below) clearly, you can dl them or may can zoom in by holding CTRL and moving you mouse wheel up/down. You can save them and do the same thing in microsoft picture viewer by default. You can also datswap them in. Snoop around the windower site for info on how to properly.

If you are working on getting CoP done, I pray that you are very familiar with this site.

NM, escort NPC (must protect these,) dead ends, quasilumins (for MAPS!), elevators, tower names, etc. are all labeled. The best part is that they are somewhat indicative of paths you can take to get to places where quasilumins and NMs are. Exploring is the best way to understand them so that they make better sense imo. Bring reraise, bring a dark and a light based sleep. If you don't want fight everything on the way, you can have a whm w/ rr3 up train everything to the elevator and die there.

Al'Taieu:

Garden (north from inside the main lobby):

Palace (east or west from inside the main lobby):

Or better yet, finish the maps quests in game. Anyone who can't solo them without dying needs to drop their endgame pearl and go level a new job the 2004 way, learning to actually play the game this time.

Al'taieu: Epic fail if you can't solo

Grand Palace: Escorting the quasilumins is somewhat difficult, but I think maybe you can sleep mobs and then log hate without the Quasi despawning? If not, just pace yourself and die/reraise to shake hate as needed.
Difficulty +1 if you haven't finished CoP to unlock the west door from the lobby.

Garden: Learn to sneak past the mobs, practice until you get it right. Even the really fast spinning kind going in the "wrong" direction (both directions are doable, but most people find one or the other to be easier).
Die/reraise as needed but this is HIGHLY soloable.

The fast spinners can be hard to run past reliably because of lag. It's useful to bring a job that can sleep them, though reraise works too.

- Want to Chainspell Raise your alliance or party? Want to Chainspell Stun something? Chainspell first, then Raise/Stun.
- Mijin Gakure is not fire based, stop asking for barfira
- Jailers are immune to stun
- Get your 500 zeni before a T4 run is about to begin

That doesn't mean an hour before, either. Or even two hours before! Same goes for farming pop items for Swift Belt, Bomb Queen, or whatever else. If your LS/group of friends/whatever has set a start time, and you try to gather what you need shortly before the start time, be it zeni or pop items, the Force will not be with you.

This goes for taking the boat to Einherjar, too. 30 minutes or less before start time? Dvucca Isle Staging point > hug left wall > Undersea Ruins (you'll need an Imperial silver piece, Salvage permit, or Captain) > Caedarva right next to Nashmau. It's fast and only has a tiny stretch of non-TS aggro. You can't get lost in the ruins either, even without a map; there's only one path.

It's the same idea as getting your cutscenes done ASAP for missions: be prepared, don't hold people up or miss out.

Even better, get all 3 key items in advance, and let the first thing you do after a T4 run be getting the zeni to repurchase the salt or salts you just used. You're going to use them anyway.

you have to /acmd leader name to pass alliance lead to another party leader, so across parties.

When making a party, use AP radar and filter the names of potential pt members. Then run from the MH to the AH and you should probably see them at one point. This way you can check their gear out prior to inviting them.
