I swear, I have some inherent bias against finishing hand held games... (Only reason I finished Golden Sun was, really, that I got the GBA Player for Game Cube.)

Perhaps we should add a qualifier to "finished" to mean that "didn't finish the story or main quest". If we're talking about 100% completion that I don't think I've ever finished any game other than some PC adventure titles and FPS games.

I consider that I "finished" GTAIV - or really any of the GTA games for that matter - because I've concluded the main story and done most of the side missions, but not every single thing in the game for 100%.

I have something like 150 games between PSX and PS2, huge chunk of those are RPG's and sadly the majority of them I've come nowhere close to finishing. I think there's still a decent handful I haven't even started, despite having owned them for several years. In part I guess that's due to amassing the better part of that collection when I was both working fulltime and hardcore into XI, so most of 'em all got ignored.

Of course that doesn't even begin to take into account the probably dozen or so other systems I own. The full list is obscene and I really wonder why I hang onto them all, as I'll probably never have the time to play even a tenth of them to completion.

I think I've finished every FF game I've ever started though, with the sole exception being X-2.

Pretty much any RPG you can think of, I haven't finished. Always always get to the last dungeon/areas and just completely lose interest.

Legend of Mana is really really good for the side-stories, I think. When I first played it I was like "deerrrrrrrmmmm" but then I got into the whole jewel thief story and the dragon story and... ohh man. I needa play it again.

Only game I distinctly remember not finishing is Folklore, and that's cause MGS4, SC4 and Disgaea 3 came out and I pretty much went from game to game without going back to it. I really hate how work/school gives you so little time to play. I miss being a kid with nothing better to do than play xxx rpg for the 90th time.

I forgot about that, I never finished Folklore either. Mainly because they give you a choice between 2 characters, you get to the end of ones story and to actually do the last chapter you have to finish the other characters too. I didn't feel like replaying the chapters again so soon despite the small differences in gameplay and story.

haha oh yeah, I stopped Folklore halfway as well. I got up to chapter 5 with the girl and chapter 4 with the guy, then just gave up because that dungeon was frustrating as hell.

You think you're bad? One of my best friends has a 360, a Dreamcast, a PS2, and an N64, with tons of games for each system. I can count the number of games he's beaten on one hand. He always gets to the last area, the last dungeon, the last level, in any game, and just loses interest. The only games I can think of off the top of my head that he beat are Resident Evil 4 and Mass Effect. I had to FORCE him to beat RE4.

As for games I haven't finished:

Shining Wisdom (SAT, working on)
FFXII (lost interest a ton of times)
Chrono Cross (I got to the very end, got busy with RL, now years later I have NO idea where to go or what the story is anymore, so I just gave up on it.)
Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice (got busy with RL, I'll get back to it sometime soon, now that I've completed every DS game I own + got 100% clear games in almost all of them)
Megaman X: Command Mission (had to return it, never found another copy)
