The only boss that really gives me problems are the Maneaters, so much rage from that fight. If you rush they destroy you, if you turtle you'll do fine until there's only 1 left and it's at 10% hp, in which case it'll knock you off the edge.

didnt knew the vanguard at the tutorial level can be defeated...got it to 15% till it got me =(
Fiancee and I are playing at the same time. I love her to death, but she doesn't have Flamelurker response timeablility (did i just make that word up?) I just could never see her beating him. At work the other day, I get a text saying she beat it. She got him caught on some fucking rocks or something and he just got stuck so she shot him to death that way... Thats the kind of game she plays haha. She probably has 1/10 the deaths I do, shes about to catch up to me, but she finds exploits and kills that way. I'm sure she will use the cheap way to kill False King, but I have no clue how she will manage the Penatrator before hand.
More power to her honestly. I love how there are so many ways to approach this game. I take the Jaime Lannister route. Love to sword play and fucking hate archers with a passion that grows deep in my soul.
There is a really really cheap way to kill the False King. Get a bow, a fuck ton of arrows, I mean a fuck ton, like 300+. Enter the fight but DO NOT MOVE. Equip the Bow, go into First Person and shoot the king. He'll get pushed back by the arrows but you just need to readjust your sight so they hit him. As long as you do not move forward at all, he will not move and attack you. I tried that my first play through and it worked like a charm.
That is to say, I fought him roughly a dozen times before trying that and losing a large number of soul levels. I don't think I'll have much issues on him this time though. I seem to remember all the bosses being harder but I seem to be walking all over them. Well, Armor spider gave me a challenge but I wasn't ready for that and I fucked up by using a Emph Eye in the middle of the fight so I refused to die lol.
I picked it up before the fight, it auto equipped and while in a panic to get to my Late Moon Grass I hadn't noticed it was equipped so I used it by mistake. Believe me, I'd never use that shit normally unless I was going for black world tendency.
Armor Spider took me three tries to beat. Third time, Haiko told me how to get that Purple Flame Shield, glad the Dragons weren't there when I got it and he was just a cake walk after that. Tanked those fireballs like a boss without giving a fuck. Until the Flamethrower shit he does I ran like a bitch. Lol
Dude, do that fight with two fucking Axes. That shit was insane.
Penetrator is really easy even without cheating, if you rescue the guy from the prison at the end of 1-2. on 1st playthrough, he can pretty much kill it for you.
Just poisoning him to death is a whole lot cheaper and a whole lot easier lolThere is a really really cheap way to kill the False King. Get a bow, a fuck ton of arrows, I mean a fuck ton, like 300+.
The real challenge in this game isn't even until the first new game+. The first time through, and NG++ and beyond are easy as hell. Oh god, those gargoyles on NG+ were rage inducing for me.
The hardest fight I had in the game was probably on NG+++, BP Satsuki
Yea, he was really annoying because of all the healing. I think it depends a lot on your playstyle too, going back and reading some of these posts. I always used sword/shield and soularrow (or w/e it was called) liberally. Always guard and counterattack, or range attacked. This worked on almost everything in the game. Playing really defensively makes it easy I guess I should have said!
I had trouble with black phantom Selene Vinland(?) (the one chick in 5-2 swamp; I forget names) because you can't block that sword she uses+that fucking swamp doesn't let you dodge.
I ended up switching to an enchanted Meat Cleaver to kill Satsuki. His constant healing to full and him killing me in 1 shot got annoying. So I knocked his ass to the ground and didn't let him get back up lol
And Yeah, Vinland lady was the 1 BP I never bothered to fight fair. Blind was the very last weapon I needed for the Platinum trophy, so I just poisoned her to death to get it over with.
Maneaters were definitely my most hated boss, half the time I would just roll off the ledge trying to dodge attacks.
yeah, Satsuki only shows up in as a friendly NPC in Pure White, and a BP in Pure Black. Well, he'll be "friendly" in Pure White if you dont have the Magic Sword Makoto. Otherwise he'll still attack you.
Satsuki does appear in 4-1 regardless of tendancy, but he's up on the walkway above the archway at the start. You wont beable to talk to him, and you can get 1 shot of an arrow to hit him, but after that he'll hide away.
As for why Biorr didn't show up to help on Penetrator, I'm not sure.
But if you enter 1-4, I know he wont be in the Nexus at all anymore. If you enter 1-4, He;ll be at the end of the level getting smacked down by the blue dragon. and if he survives the blue dragon fight, he'll go back to his jail cell.
Did you talk to him after opening the gate? Seems odd that he's not there for the penetrator fight.
I just wanna throw it out there that the Penetrator theme was epic
The only thing I wish this game had more of was story. It had a really neat world and premise, but it never really did anything with it. Learning more about the places you explore beyond some very basic info, maybe through say random books or tablets found scattered around, would've made this game perfect.
