This game was kicking my butt bad as a Wanderer. I finally swapped to a Royal and made the game so much easier. Being able to pick off half the targets from a distance increased survivability a ton.
And helps that if I run out of mp I can just find a safe spot and afk a while to refresh.

From what I read it is impossible for a black phantom to kill your npcs so thats pretty weird.

Yea...I figured that the NPCs would appear as ghosts just like they do when in Co-op mode ;x

Oh man, got pure white tendency and going after Miralda.. didn't think 3 black phantoms would spawn all at once...

Edit: Gotcha bitch. She wasn't that hard, well, actually.. the sword I have makes it really easy.. (The one you get for doing the escort Ostrava quest)

There aren't any black phantoms near Miralda...Just some glowing dredgelings. (unless I'm an idiot and those *are* black phantoms and they're just way weaker than I had expected? I sort of expected phantoms to be a lot tougher than those orange guys)

Can that seriously happen (and stick)? I've never heard of PvP being able to actually screw up other people's games like that. What about the other important vendors?

Wow... that sounds like a perfect opportunity for grievers to really mess up your game? Do they come back? If Blacksmith Ed is dead, no upgrades for the good weapons correct?

This game... is amazing. I had skipped past this topic as I watched it shoot up in pages. No real reason, I just didn't know much about the game. So happy I sat and read all the posts though. Got this on Saturday in Gamestops 2nd shipment and played the hell out of it all weekend.

So far, I have done 1-1, 4-1, and 2-1 bosses in that order. Loving Hunter so far. Ranged is so helpful in so many places.

Question, i saved Freke in 3-1. Sidenote, played through that place... a good hour or so, taking my time, shitting my pants at the atmosphere and then chased a Crystal Gecko off of a ledge and died. I don't think i have kept my body for longer than 30 mins every time i get it back.

Oh right, my question. I have saved Freke, he is back in the Nexus, but doesn't offer to teach me magic. As a Hunter can i learn it? Do i have to raise Magic stat to a certain point for him to 'sell me' some magic? I think Hunter starts with 8 Magic.

EDIT: I am lame. Just found it. Have to have Magic 10 for Freke's follower to give you basic magic. Freke himself is for more advanced magic.

So new question. Should I get level 10 Magic for Soul Arrow at least? Can't hurt?

Soul Arrow is useful to have, even if you cant fire many of them.

Suggest taking magic to 10 for water veil and faith to 10 for evacuate (or higher for reraise).

I farm Souls there you can kill the first 9 of em with relative ease if you have a pole or blunt weapon, which comes out to 2000 souls a run. Then just head back to the arch stone. Just rinse and repeat till your avatar is a crispy golden brown.

Good lord, he just complains the whole fucking thing. I mean sure, at times it's a tough game. It punishes you for making the same mistakes over and over and forces you to learn. Should that have just put a checkpoint system and your deaths mean nothing? I strive to play better! Granted a checkpoint here or there wouldn't have been a bad thing, but when you know the levels well enough, you can get through them pretty fast. Overall, I've had a great time with it thus far, and only found myself frustrated a couple of times.

This might sound like a complete newb question, but I've been melee the whole time. I'm soul level 35 or so. I just learned my first spell, soul arrow. I have a silver catalyst, and the spell... what else do I do? I know I need to equip the catalyst, but how do I cast? I'm sure this could be answered by looking at the manual, but I'd prefer someones straightforward answer. Also, as a Knight, do I really even need magic? I'm guessing Soul Arrow won't hurt.

You need to have the spell in one of your magic slots, I.E the top part of the equip part of the HUD if that makes any sense.

This is what I do. They're really easy even with just my Scimitar. Though i do usually throw in a Soul Arrow or two before attacking them to make things faster.
