Are you supposed to take damage while blocking? My weapona nd shield are at full power, didnt know if it mattered D:

Depends on type of shield and the inherent stats assigned to your shield.

Look at it in your inventory and press.. Square, I think.. to see the DMG reduction your shield offers... It will be two numbers. One for phys reduction and the other for magic reduction.

Ah ok, thanks and yeah this is pretty brutal thus far, Ive died quite abit, playing as a barbarian, ive gotten the dodge down, but the riposte not so much.

You know what grinds my gears? Trying to get pure white world tendency. It just doesn't want to happen for me. Mainly trying to get it for world 1 and I'm at the final boss. I get it to go up alittle and then I die in my revived form and lose it lol.

It may be too late to get pure WT in level one now.. on your next run, if you want pure WT in Boletaria (level one), suicide and lose your body in the Nexus. Losing your body in a world hurts your world tendency a lot... almost as much as a boss kill helps your world tendency. Good news is that the white world tendency doesn't offer great rewards... You get a female only bondage/executor suit, and a master ring. The master ring you can find once you beat world 2. If I were you, I'd go for pure black now (If you want quick pure black, use ephemoral eyes and let monsters kill you in boletaria) to spawn the black phantom version of Executioner Miralda... she'll drop you her axe. And once you kill her, your world tendency will return close to neutral.. so that you may try for pure white on your next run.

Remember, don't go into worlds in body form.. ever! If you want pure white.

This is actually what I am doing. Which is how I'm losing my revived form. Also, do I need to kill invaders in 1-1 for that areas pure white or anywhere in the world? (I want to open the gate for Miralda, and yes I know it's easier to do it the other way but I messed up and also like a challenge.)

I started out as a wander and am wondering if I've hit a wall. I got up to the 2-2 boss and a few tries at him I can't seem to do too much. The stuff I've read seems to say magic or coating your weapon with sticky white stuff is the way to go but I don't have magic and I only have 1 charge of the white stuff so I'm not sure if I'm boned or not. Is there a merchant I can get to that sells it or some mobs I can farm?

I think the thief merchant in 4-1 has it.

Melee only is fucking brutal in this game, my wanderer has died so much, but the royal I made literally just mows everything down in seconds lol.

I spent all my souls on leveling up and then I decided to go to 3-1 and try to get a few quick levels. Unfortunately pretty much all my equipment broke at the same time and its nearly impossible for me to get enough Demon Soul's to fix it without getting my ass kicked fast.

Armor means almost nothing. Ideally you should not be getting hit regardless.

I play in the Black leather armor, fatigue regeneration is much more important than defense when you have a DR 100% shield.
