Rolled a Wanderer, and going in not really knowing much or following any particular guide. I'm going to get my ass utterly handed to me eh?

Only thing I know to look for is the Cling Ring in 1-1 I believe. Are there missables in this game? I'm a bit of a trophy whore, so it wouldn't hurt to know if there are points where I can fuck myself out of getting a trophy on my first playthrough.

[EDIT] That makes death #4 on 1-1 just trying to get the Cling Ring, and lost all my souls due to dying before hitting my corpse after death #3, I'm a just call it for the night. >.>

Doesn't really matter, several trophies require a minimum of 3 playthroughs anyways, but in general no.

As in the class sucks in general, or just has a high difficulty curve until better gear?

None of the other classes had any appeal to me aside from Thief and temple knight.

Well all of the classes can be pretty much anything, I just think Wanderer is one of the harder classes to beat 1-1 as.

Like he said, starting as a wanderer sucks. You can pretty much mold your character however you want after a while, but of course, your class is relevant in terms of the direction you want to go.

Yeah...your starting class pretty much determines the gear you start with... that's it.

Stats that low are meaningless.

couple quick notes: Black Phantoms cannot kill npcs as far as I've been able to tell. When I invade people, their npcs are there, but as "ghosts"...I can't do anything with them.

Also, when invading...thief ring + cloak - all aura spells (regen/refresh) = hilarious...if you're more than 15 feet away people can't see you unless you move. On the other hand, there are a lot of dumb people who use grave with regen/refresh on...(hint: I can see you!).

I suck something awful at invading, but it's all i've been doing all day while farming spider chunks and getting black worlds.

For anyone starting, I suggest getting Magic and Faith to 18 for the talisman of beasts as it's a heck of a space saver.

I just got the Dozer Axe, I'm kinda disappointed... It has no modifiers? My Dragon Bone Smasher is stronger than it is (has a B str modifier)

Oh, is there a level cap difference where they wont let you in?

Quick question: Are level states saved when you return to the nexus (or whatever the hub was called)?

Finally able to engage the boss on 1-1, but I wouldn't mind returning to that NPC to repair my shit first, but not if it means having to run through the whole damn level again hitting levers.

the changes you've made to the level remain, but enemies respawn. Still, in 1-1 once you've activated all the levers it's only a few newbie demons between you and the boss so yeah it's probably a good idea to run back.

The game saves every time you do anything. So yes you can walk back to the nexus... Only normal enemies will respawn, all bosses and minibosses as well as most black phantoms will not respawn again.

One of you needs to be a soul and the other needs to be alive in order to play with your friend. Also they need to be within a 10 level range from you I believe. The soul has to put their soul sign up and you have to go to where they are to invite them to your world. You need a blue eye stone to put your soul sign up.

If you're trying to play with someone specifically you should put the soul sign up somewhere where you or him won't get invited by someone else.

I haven't made it very far with my first balanced character, but I'm tempted to roll a mage-like dude.

Am I gonna be facing much "LOL MAGIC IMMUNE" situations aside from invading players? I'm sure I'm gonna have to whip out the sword if I run outta MP recovery items but I don't mind that.

Ive been playing a thief, I like how agile they are, and I evade alot, really easy to land backstabs and such. I'll probably play a temple knight as well, but my god that starting spear is so annoying.

The halberd? It's not a spear and i had to change it to an actual spear because the halberd banged into walls too much (i started as temple knight). The halberd was good for hitting multiple enemies, but it was just impossible in tight areas.
