Get to my level and we will have a duel..well if one of us gets a red eye stone anyway. But my hammer has range,speed and nearly the same power as the demonbrandt. The main difference is the extra 130 physical attack. My hammer has 143 physical and 160 magical.

SO I got to tower knight, and im pretty low lvl so kills me in one shot, where should I be going, I killed the blob boss, and when I go the other way on the palace area I get ass fucked by that redknight.

One hit? The tower boss is usually second but if you want to try another place go back to the nexus and check the stone next to the one you're using.

Or farm blue eyed knights for souls to "level up" with.

I thought you couldnt lvl up without some npc u unlock or w/e? And yeah I got to the tower knight not dieing once, I had almost 14k souls ;(

Theres no fucking way I can kill him when he blasts me in one hit..

You can level as soon as you beat 1-1. Just talk to the maiden in black in the nexus.

After you beat 1-1, the maiden in black will take your souls to increase your stats, for every stat you increase, your "level" goes up.

edit: try increasing endurance, unless you want to kill him from afar, then just use magic or arrows from a safe position. If you're going to melee, you need to avoid the move where he smashes his shield on the floor which i think does the most damage. You can avoid it by staying behind him at all times.

edit: scratch the endurence thing, physical defense always goes up no matter what stat you increase.

Finally got pure white ct again. All thanks to the souls of the black phantoms who invade me.

What else good does pure white CT do? All I thought it did was let you get the Friend Ring. Maybe a small boost to health in soul form?

@KAISHA: I made a new character, rushed past first boss and am Lv10, but enough souls to level to 12, maybe 13. Let me know if you'd like some company. We may have to use BG or AIM though to coordinate the Coop! Or.. PSN's menus.. but I hate typing with my controller.

I dunno what pure white ct does besides the friend ring and boosting the demonbrandt damage to max. I think someone said it had an effect on the ending but I haven't beaten the game yet so I wouldn't know.

Mm, it doesn't have an effect on the ending.. you choose the ending you want.. although, just forewarning.. it's not obvious that you can choose..

Bah, i don't think Ostrava was in my 1-2 area. Any ideas why that might be? I came back to 1-2 long after beating a few other bosses. I did free him in 1-1. I think i have 1-3 open, so maybe he will be there. Guess i will find out tomorrow, long night involving boss keeling, Spiderstone farming, Xbox RROD'ing (yay...) and then some 4-3 soul farming.

All in all a nice night, other than the whole RROD part.

At any rate, I'm a bit pissed at the fact the game closes off your current session if you disconnect while playing. I mean, wtf? Why not simply have the online part of the game seamlessly deal with itself in realtime as to whether or not it currently is able to access the servers, rather than me requiring me to head back to the title screen to reconnect after my net sorts itself out? This is going to be a major pain in the arse given how unstable my net can be at times...

Anyway, least it happened directly after I finished 1-2. When it forces you to title screen after losing connection, do you lose your current session, or does it save where you last were as if you quit normally?

[EDIT] Aww, can't go onto 1-3 at this point, guess it's time to explore one of the other zones. And god I fucking suck at this game, died to a friggen blue knight already just after regaining my body because the three archers behind him wouldn't stop firing at me. Game's been having some performance trouble too though, stuttering a lot.

When you disconnect you will be able to start back where you were in the level with all the enemies you killed still dead, but if your fighting a boss you will start back outside of it's area and have to start the fight over again. It can be annoying at times. One time i got disconnected when I had the blue dragon down to about 10%, when I loaded my game he was at full again.

Hope the game doesn't penalize me at all for playing some sections offline as far as that hall of fame thing goes.

Going to *try* and farm souls from the 1-3 entrance by backtracking to those two blue knights, but for some fucked up reason I'm dying more than I should. Perhaps I'll try out my kite shield rather than sticking with spike, I can't land a parry at all on this dinky thing.
(my STR is in desperate need of some levels to wield larger weapons)

FINALLY started playing this game (first time Amber came in to watch me and I felt uncomfortable because I didn't know what I was doing). For the most part the game seemed easy as fuck, went straight through 1-1 for a bit slaughtering everything in my path until I finally reached what I think is a Red Knight. Fucker killed me in one shot and now my blood stain is right infront of him. Are you able to kill it at level 1? Haven't made a second attempt since I have work.

Red Knight isn't something you'd want to try early on, unless you want to exploit his AI pathfinding to get him stuck so you can just ranged attack him to death for an easy 2k souls.

Starting to regret starting with Wanderer here, but I wasted too much time on him as is to want to reroll.

[EDIT] Well there's my problem, I can't parry with my spike shield as I always damage the enemy instead in the process. That's.....useless to me since I'd rather do a high-dmg stab. Swapping shields. >.>

Do mobs level up with you or something btw? I'm getting a bit peeved that blue knights are still capable of two-shotting me.
