You could lure him into the hole near the start but then you can't get any drops off him. Other than that he should be left alone for now.

If you aggro him, and make your way back to the stairwell past the fog door, and go down it, without breaking the fire barrels you can make him fall off and die. He's worth a 2-2.5k souls. Or get lucky if you have several firebombs

Thanks for the info, do you remember if I should go through the fog or not then? When I was there, there seemed to be three directions. One to the Red Knight, one in the opposite direction but there was a message saying I should be a higher level to go that way and a fog door. I stupidly wondered towards the knight.

Game is great as hell, learning curve is a bit different then most games though. Didn't explain much and for quite a while the main thing I raged at was how I couldn't aim for shit.

Fog doors always point towards the next portion of the map that'll eventually lead to the boss.

Qalbert: What about that guy who sets flame to all those barrels? I wouldn't mind abusing that trick.

Going through the fog is the right way. There will always be fogs to go through in every area..almost like checkpoints except I don't think they do anything really? Maybe some effect to online.

There's no red fog past the knight. He's there guarding a door you can't open til later with a specific key you get from a quest.

The fog is always how you proceed in a level. You know you are going in the right direction if you see fog, usually.

-edit: lol @ 3 people answering about the same thing at the same time

if you go to the right, you go down bigass stairwell, theres several fire attacking guys, and some treasure, at the bottom you open a door (permanently) enabling quicker access to the upper floor.

Block what? Every attack I've seen from the tower knight looked unblockable (wasn't going to chance trying that given every attack he landed on me took 50% of my health). It's all about rolling out of the way. Be sure to take out all the archers first.

yeah rolling around is a given, same with the archers

just wish thief had better armor, still wearing more/less the same shit from the start, npcs only sell plate armor which really destroys my maneuverability

There are multiple posts on gamefaqs with guys saying they killed over 400 black skeletons and some who just say they have been at it for 3-4 weeks and nothing. I heard its a .5% drop rate. I'm glad I got mine when I did lol Someone said they gained over 100 levels farming that shit and never got one.

Find it on top of the towers in 4-1. You didn't drop it, did you? I think there's only one every cycle, or at least is a very rare drop.

Shield will reduce dmg, but moving around quickly is what matters most. You want just enough armor so that his feet stomps and shield stomps don't 1 hit KO you.

Just did this fight as Temple Knight, MAN HALBERD BLOWS ASS. You kids don't know what you're talkin' bout!

Halberd raped this entire game for me. You just ain't using it right. I took out the tower knight at level 10 with the halberd without even taking out the archers lol

I also need a pure darkmoonstone but I blew my chance at it for this game cycle so I'll have to wait.

anyone else fucking hate the way casting moves you ever so slightly? I had almost killed Blue Dragon by casting soul ray at him, and with like 15-20% HP left I shifted into his fire breath from casting, and couldn't heal/get back to safety in time. FFFFUUUUU
