How do you get the Dragon bone Smasher anyways?
How do you get the Dragon bone Smasher anyways?
White world tendency, world 2-4 where you fight the dragon god. The sword is in a stone to the left as you enter and you cant get to it unless you're WWT. You'll be able to see it either way, but stuff will be in the way if you aren't WWT.
Oh if you were looking for info about it in the Demon's Souls wiki they changed the name for the NA version, it JP it was the Keel Smasher.
Here's a question, what's a reliable way to play with friends online? I just spent like, 30 minutes trying to get my brother to find my soul sign, and he never saw a damn thing. Is there different um, 'servers' or something? Would it help if we added each other on PSN? He's getting upset, he got the game so we could play together every once and a while but if we can't do that he's gonna be pissed.
If your levels are close you can always play together. Just you need to talk on aim or on phone. And need to have someone in body form of course. I was able to find kaishas sign right away but kaisha got summoned as 3-3 boss.
Most by deaths have been stupid mistakes such as trying to block with my shield but using a long ass miracle that causes me to get hit while casting.
This game hates me.
I die in some of the worse ways...if there was a "American's funniest Demon's souls deaths" I would win every damn time.
I knew this was going to be hard but fuuuuuuuuuuu
Anybody put points into Luck? Most games I don't but I've been wanting to farm stones for upgrades faster since I won't get much time to play after tonight. Does it make a decent difference?
I have 14 Luck atm. I actually started with 12 as Hunter. I really can't say that i noticed better drops. I know there are 1-2 weapons that require a decent amount of luck though. In my case, i was trying to farm Spiderstones for my Viscous Bow... and it sucked. After a couple hours with maybe 3 drops out of the 18+ i needed i decided to get the Large Sword of Searching as well.
That ups your base luck apparently, but not sure by how much. I can't say i saw much of a difference there other than the random 'more than one drop at a time' loots that i would get after offhanding it.
The one time i really saw a difference in drops, was Pure Black World Tendancy in 1-3 and 1-4. Was getting Weapon drops in addition to stones/herbs on each enemy. Sucked that it probably made 1-4 boss that much harder though -.- But 4-5 tries and he finally went down.
So far, they say that luck should not go higher than 7. Or, if you start with higher luck you should not put points into luck. They say that high luck does not affect rare drop rates, just increases chance of something drop.
Who is they? The demon souls wiki people. So take it as you will.
So.. I haven't read through a lot of this thread, but is this game worth getting? How's the online play and what not?
Definitely, if you have a low nerd-rage threshold. This game can be ultra frustrating especially early on. Regular monsters can one or two-shot you easily, and most of the boss fights have little or no room for error.
The good part about that is that the fights aren't cheap or lame, if you lose it's because you did something wrong, not that the boss used a cheap move.
That being said, it's strangely addicting and the range and choice of weapons for character customization are pretty cool. It's also really rewarding when you finally beat that boss you've been losing to for the last 2 hours.
I had an embarrassing Demon Souls moment yesterday. I was Soul Level 50+ before I figured out that there was a zone I hadn't even found yet. I was reading on the wiki about the 3-x areas and realized I'd never found them and didn't even know that archstone was up there.
I tried it out last night and 3-1 is hella creepy.
Yeah, that was probably my least favorite level so far. I don't have my gamma turned up, but the whole level is really dark and it's too easy to fall to your death. I just blew through world 4 too, the bosses were a joke.
I cringe at having tpo go back to 3-1 in NG plus... I spent a good hour and a half there slowly creeping through it. I was playing it safe and doing very well. Then nearly 80% in to the level I saw a Crystal Gecko and ran after it straight off a broken ledge to my doom.
Now I know exactly how Wile E Coyote felt... I just put my face in my hands and felt true shame.
Yeah, I've heard about how hard it was. I'm actually up for a big challenge as games these days just aren't that hard anymore. Clearly this one is. Maybe I'll think about snagging it pretty soon if I can. How's online play?
I hear 3-1 has a merchant that sells something that helps you get more souls. How far in is it? 3-1 looks like a level I want to avoid for a while. Went in and got shot, my health went down to 20%.
It's different. You'll play 90% (or more, depending on how you want to play) solo. You'll see messages left from other players scattered about telling you where to go and stuff like that, but I dunno if you consider that "online play".
When you get in the game a bit, you get stones that allow you to invade other people's games and attempt to kill them, or join another player in his world and try to help him defeat the demon boss on that stage. There's no matchmaking though, so you either have to coordinate an isolated spot or get lucky to play with a friend.
