I think you would have to really see a benefit to the Insane Catalyst to want to choose it over Soulthirst. Once I have enough MP to cast it (almost there with MP gear) it is going to be quite nice for farming.

Yeah, I've found that the safest way to avoid that is to always exit the game through the menu in game, and then press the PS button to quit.

Yeah that is what i do as well Arnwulf, and of course always always making sure that the 'loading/saving' icon isn't there.

Sorry just spent mine, but if you can't find any, I farmed all the ones I needed in 2-1 and 2-2. They drop quite a bit. Chunks in 2-2 and off the crystal in 2-1.

Edit - Also I've yet to win a single invasion. lol

The first time I invaded it was in the second part of the tunnels, and I wound up rounding a corner into a three player group of one guy with a tower shield and two casters. I didn't get a single opening.

Then I found Bior's style of armor, which makes me look like a walking tank, and invaded on 1-2 (I think? Where the dragon strafes the bridges).

So this lone green-clothed wanderer comes strolling out of the tunnel to find a hulking red mass with a six-inch-thick shield in the way. He turns around and starts sprinting the other direction with me chasing him only to have a fog wall between him and the archstone.

I wish there was voice chat so I could detune my voice and yell "THERE IS NO ESCAPE!" and laugh demoniacally as I skewered him.

Being an ass is awesome.

Forgot to mention, I re-forwarded my PS3 ports (got a new router shortly before getting Demon's Souls) last night and I had bloodstains/ghosts for the entire hour or so that I played. I am very hopeful that that solved my issue with my connection to DS Server getting dropped after 5-10 mins every time.

Rather disappointing that I haven't been invaded thus far. Though I would be at a disadvantage since I want to actually look like Null while I farm so I've got the Assassin's Mask and Black Leather.

I finally forked out the cash for the Ring of Avarice. 3-1 was surprisingly a cake walk, from the stories I heard I was rather afraid.

Sometimes I have to drop out to the main menu to reconnect to the servers, especially after the 6pm maintenance they did yesterday and today (which could have been why you weren't connected if you didn't catch the memo).

I need to get the ancient king armor to spare my stamina a bit. The heavy plate makes you a tank if you can handle the equipment burden (I have to wear the proper ring), but it really is killer on your mobility when you're dodging the 'splodey orange orbs (that I thought were items >.<) in the second part of the mines.

Ed: I wish the "You've Summoned The Phantom xxx" messages were based on character name so I could make a guy named "Of The Opera".

I finally got invaded, unfortunately it was RIGHT after I fought the spider boss, I hadn't picked up anything and I was trying to fight a gecko. Mofo popped right on me.

Ok, I fucking don't get this. I killed the Spider Demon then got invaded and died. I come back and I don't see the Hard stone and I don't have it in my inventory. Do I fucking Lose it???

Same with the gecko shit.

Also lol at the Orange Splodey Items! I did that the first time in 2-2. Oh look, some items in those carts I will just head over anBLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good times. I hear ya on the armor too, Brushwood is just so heavy for my Hunter, and yeah Null, I have worn the same exact thing for pretty much my entire game. I did have Fluted chestplate/Brushwood chestplate on from time to time, just for the added DEF when i needed it without the whole dame set.

I actually won a few times after I posted what I did. Changed my tactics and armor and then started trying to revolve around applying Plague via magic on them and then putting pressure on them by walking up to them with my shield raised to bait an attack and smashing them into the ground with my Great Club. If there's enemies around and I start losing health, I retreat a bit, pop an herb and continue. I was attacking people in world 1 so I was banking off the hope that people wouldn't have the anti-plague plant on shortcut.

If there's more than one guy though, then most of the time it's a losing battle. Since I'm in new game+ i need to unlock the spell people again so I can get some of the spells I need (mostly firestorm) and start trying again.

Went back to the same spot, got invaded by the same guy three times. It's like he's waiting for me.

I was actually curious about what happens as far as invades/invading in NG+ Are you only invading other NG+ fools or is it soley based on soul level.?

Wait, so he invaded you... and killed you. So you lost your body form? And then you used items to get it back or what? Really sucks that you lost that soul as that is what you need for Lava Bow or Firespray or Igniter spells.

And another question for anyone that knows. Banish... any idea what the range is? I assume you have to be close to the Black Phantom to be able to use it and send them back to their own world?

I actually don't use my Brushwood armor anymore really, I have my Dragon bone smasher and my Purple flame shield with fur armor (and the plate body) so I have max mobility. Nothing surprises people more when you see somebody with a huge fucking sword that's faster than you. I had some guy with a single hand sword and shield with heavy armor try rushing me because he thought I couldn't dodge... I rolled out of the way and backstabbed him with my Dragon Bone Smasher for 950 damage.
