A Few more invaders and I'll be back to glorious pure white CT. Is there even a reason to stay at pure black CT other than the assassination sidequest? The lowered health isn't worth it.
Invading depends on what fog checkpoint you use your stone in. I've spawned literally right behind someone fighting the zweihander red eye knight in 1-3 and just backstabbed him when he almost got owned by it because he probably thought he had time to kill it before I showed up.

Only problem with doing that is you're more unlikely to find someone to invade in the middle of a map. Also depending on fast they're advancing through the zone, they're more likely to get to the boss fog faster which despawns you immediately. I've done that when I didn't wanna be bothered trying to fight a BP and risk losing my phantoms I brought specifically to fight a boss.

I have to say, the game is a lot more fun when you play the 'online' portion of it. Was assisting a guy and another phantom through 4-1, and my god, the amount of invaders he had that I and the other phantom just raped time and time again....., great free way for me to get my CT up without death penalty.

I want my CT max'd out for Demonbrand to see if it's anywhere near as powerful as Soulbrand was when I was pure black earlier.

Anyone got a sword upgrade-path they'd recommend for someone wanting a mix of physical and magical damage that swings fast?

Your dex is extremely low. I'd say its best to raise that while the points per level is still low. That way you can farm easier and quicker.

What for primarily, for Sticky Long Compound Bow +5? I know it has an S grade modifier, just no idea what that means as far as extra damage per DEX level. Nothing else I got is really affected by it.

Guess it wouldn't hurt, especially in the lizard department. Takes a bloody year for Makoto to drain me to 30% HP.

Effects Bow and katanas very well. And yeah, I didn't raise Vit much until I got to 150+ because I wanted to drain to %30 quicker.

The one I used was basically just dodging his fire on the way up to him, and turning around once I was in the arch doorway underneath him. You can lock on to him from here and basically just peck away at him with a bow from there. Clever Rat's Ring and either a blast from him (won't work if you don't have the HP/fire defense) or Makoto to help boost your damage, so you don't lose the NPC on the first playthrough. Haven't tried this on NG+, so I don't know how much harder his fire hits.

Also, obviously make sure you bring a good bow. White Bow or Sticky Long Compound preferably.

edit: Forgot to mention, but you should take as much off of him as possible while he's sitting over the first walkway. Can do this to buy time for Makoto to take HP and also to reduce the amount of time the NPC is getting hammered with his breath.

It took me a lot of fucking arrows with Sticky Long Compound Bow +5 using Clever Rat's + Makoto, so I'd recommend you got at least 200 arrows on you to be safe.

Made me wish that storm sword worked there just so I could melee it to death instead. Fucking love that sword, shame it's only applicable in the one zone.

Also, I don't know if it was just me or my timing was awesome, but the blue dragon always appeared to shoot flames from left to right, and then right to left on the next one, and repeat.

Yeah, it takes a whole lot of arrows no matter what, forgot to mention that. The worst part is I actually did it without a Clever Rat's on my first character. Got to the point that I just switched over to cable while I was pushing the button to shoot. Killed before it killed the NPC, but god that was horrible.

That's too bad. The game itself *clearly* mentions a 6th area, as well as having it in the Archstone menu...

If you're sniping the blue dragon from the steps use light arrows, it'll take ~75 arrows at the most since any other arrow will lose a ton of damage from the large distance. White bow might also be better since it has a range of 75 (sticky long bow +5 has 65), but I never really tried using it.

    Spoiler: show

I may have posted this before, but the "real" end boss was 1-4, no?

What disappointed me most was that the ending didn't tie into NG+ somehow...what with the whole theme of being trapped in the Nexus and all.

Story wise, 1-4 would be the 'final boss'. I thought of the actual ending fight as Yu Yevon.

Trying to fight to finish this game... I really want to 100% complete, but the pure bladestone is such a cock block, and this pile of games is not getting any smaller. . . Not to mention the fact world tendency has fucked me over on so many levels.

If you kill the nest in world 5 you should get all the chunks you'll ever need. Before that I just stacked up on em while farming the Skele and 4-2.

What level are you? I'm sure I have enough to give away for free. Haven't logged on in a bit but I'm sure I'm around 180-190.
