for marrowstone all i did was pop on 5-2 and go back a little till you find the big blood scarab or w/e they are and then i run bak (make sure you have the little bridge the one u use as a shortcut to 5-3 down) and use the shortcut and usually u find a couple of mosquitoes after that i warp to nexus and try again if i didn't get it. I did this a bunch of time tll all i got all chunks i need.
edit:
np minionz, gotta love the random dumbass trying to invade us but we showed him!
Grats to Demon's Souls for winning GOTY. Definitely deserved~
I was happy to see that the place with the original GOTY awards(gamespot) made the right choice, while all the copycats bought into the UC2 hype![]()
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Anyone around Lv138 wanna PVP (only on first run through, not NG+, if that makes a difference)?
I've been using the Old Monk to summon me as a BP and been kicking some ass. Though, to be honest I sorta felt sorry for the guys I beat (..on Christmas t'boot..) its such a cheap fight against a human BP.. nothing like the guy getting you low on health and you go and pop a New Moon, or having him kill you only to realize you had Reraise up
I need to wait until this PWWT event is over to get to NG+, need to farm me some Colourless souls D:
Being Old Monk is alot easier than invading. As Old Monk, you can fight people who are in soul form instead of only being allowed to go against people in body form. You also have as much hp as if you yourself were in body form iirc.
As for colorless souls farming, you can get an infinite amount through 2 similar glitches. In 4-2 at the crow, if you drop either a talisman of god or a gold mask and reload there will be a colorless soul on the ground. Now if you drop a black eye stone, you'll get the message "Invading" 3 times followed by "Moving to another world as a black phantom". If you wait until the third time "Moving to another world as a black phantom" message appears, then pick up the colorless soul, when you move back to your world there will be another colorless soul on the ground. You can do this an infinite amount of times, but you have to make sure that you either die to the person who you invaded or suicide. If you die by suicide though you'll lose a level, and if you kill the person you invaded then you'll resurrect and it won't work. You can repeat this however many times you like for an infinite amount of colorless souls. You can also do the same thing with primeval demons by killing them as soon as the second "moving to another world as a black phantom" message comes up then picking up the soul.
I haven't done it for a few week, but there hasn't been a single patch yet so I doubt it's been fixed. The crow method is a lot better than primeval demons, because the primeval demons dont have a 100% drop and from my experience, 4-1 has the highest successful invasion rate.
Me and shojin learned this the hard way.from my experience, 4-1 has the highest successful invasion rate.
Okay I just got this game and started a temple knight(?) character. I'm having a little difficulty with the game so I'm here for any tips. So far i'm getting used to the parry and lock-on(the first part of the game i did terribly with these). I have heal but I can only use it once and I cant get mp back
My other issue is that I blow through healing items, but I found out that half my issue is that I try to fight people in hallways and I keep getting rebounded off the walls lol.
So yeah, any tips would be appreciated xD
On my first playthrough I used luring tactics a lot on groups of mobs with thiefs ring + bow, helps get them out in open areas where it's a joke to dodge attacks, which you may as well get into the habit of doing now since mobs eat through your stamina on NG+ as far as shield blocking goes.
I would avoid parrying as a new player. Ripostes are nice but killing monster in 1 hit instead of 3 isn't great if you lose half your life bar in the process. Also, does temple knight starts with halberd? If so, try the 2 handed attack in corridors, it has a more linear attack so you'll see less rebounds compared to using it single handed. If you've killed tower knight, you can warp to the archstone and kill the 2 blue eye knights before him for farming herbs. Each knight will drop 2 half moon or late moon grasses.
Lose the Mirdan Armor for something light enough you can roll around in, the general rule of thumb is to wear the armor with the best defense that you can still roll around in without any movement penalties. The christmas event is still in place, so try to pick up the purple flame shield in 1-1 at the dragon perch (and a ring of great strength). It has the second best guard reduction in the game when upgraded, and has great flame resistance as well. Also make sure you have the cling ring and thief ring, they will make the game much easier. Lastly, if you're still having trouble, pick up a spear. Spears are a good weapon to start out with since you can attack even with your shield raised.
Sorry for the wall of text.
No thats eprfectly fine. Any tips for bosses? I do have the halberd/spear but on the spider and giant knight that I'm stuck on, all the guides say "If you use magic he's easy. Use ranged attacks on the spider". And it's like, okay i have neither of those lol.
For the Tower Knight you MUST take out the archers up top or you will have a very hard time against the Tower Knight.
To beat the thing however you need to run behind him and attack both of his feet until he falls down and attack his head, you'll probably need to repeat this at least 2 or 3 times before he dies.
The Armored Spider is very easy with a ranged because you can just sit back and shoot him safely but to melee him you need to watch his movements, when it drops down it casts flames towards you, and know when to run back to the fog entrance.

Has anyone here even beaten Demon's Souls on their first playthrough entirely without using 'cheap' strategies on bosses?
I know I'm guilty of having done it on at least half of them on my first run, although I did beat them all (well, aside from Flamelurker. FUCK that boss) legitimately in NG+.
(well, I still used the flame brazier trick on Maneater, but let's be honest, if you don't use that odds are you'll just get knocked off the bridge at some point, especially when you're sandwiched by both of them)
I just got into NG+ and I'm absolutely FLYING through it. My Blessed Miridian Hammer +5 is messin' shit up.. that and Sticky Long Compound +5.
I did all of first run through on bosses off ine (because I didn't have internet) and iirc, only shot through the fog to kill off the first Maneater. I also didn't move once I entered False King, and just pegged his head a bit, then charged in to melee down the rest. 1/1 on Flamelurker NG+! Had an awesome Blue Phantom that had a big ass damage Great Axe.
NG+ isn't exactly much harder.. but that probably because I went into it at Lv144 with awesome gear. Reraise > Total Protection and I am loving the 4x as much souls per kill :3
Question though, I just beat Adjudicator, will I still be able to be invaded in 4-1? I need to kill me some BP's to get PWCT for Friend's Ring for the trophy.
You won't get invaded on areas you've beaten, so no.
I found the easiest way to deal with CT is to be a Blue Phantom for someone elses game and land the finishing blow on any invaders. You get white CT for the kill, and there's no penalty for dying to one as a blue phantom unless you're worried about someone tossing you a D rating.
Doing 4-2 as a blue phantom is the best way to get white CT. That's how i got it without even noticing it. It really helps when you get total idiots invading and focus too much on the host and ignore you too much, leading to situations where they get a hammer in their faces.
Might have to boot this game up and take advantage of white tendency. Once I figure out my Soul Level, if anyone close needs help with anything, shout me a holler.
I'm 1/1 on every boss in NG+ so far, did Flamelurker solo legit, (well I went 1/2 on Adjudicator because I got knocked down to bottom floor and trapped in a corner. Only bosses I'm missing right now are 3-2, 3-3, 5-2, 5-3 and 1-4. Only one I'm not looking forward to is Maneater.
