No way to retrieve arrows. Given how many I waste just farming on my mixed-class (I usually go out with 100 arrows), I'm under the assumption hunter couldn't rely on ranged attack fulltime, especially at lower levels where your item burden is much more limited.

I screw this up too often to make it useful, the range is hit or miss, and if your barely closer he turns around and attacks

I just keep in mind that you basically step forward in the animation itself, and position myself based on that. Practice makes perfect........along with having a shitload of spices handy for mess ups. >.>

Probably not as fast (can be fast if everything starts flying towards you and you just stand in one spot toggling between), but on NG+ PB 4-4 farming (enter at 4-3 to be safe), I was getting like 50-60k souls per run, though I need Morion Blade activated to OHKO the manta, with Sticky Long Compund +5. And its awesome, once you kill em all, all you do is reload your profile and everything respawns. Unlimited times (or until you run out of arrows)

Where do you position yourself for farming the mantas anyhow? Whenever I try near the start, at least half of them like to come in from the left, and end up dying on the edge of the cliff out of reach.
(which is always such a tease since I can see the loot glimmering...)

If I try anywhere closer to the wide open spot they all just spam bolts at me, with the only decent safe place being inside that busted little house section.

Ah, honestly, don't bother with the drops, you'll only rarely ever get a chunk of cloudstone. I just position myself at the start, close enough that they notice me, then just work my towards the 4-4 arch stone if need be (I don't use Theif's ring as they tend to just keep flying and I miss a lot).

lol Ive accidentally popped myself right in the middle of them all a couple times.. DO A BARREL ROLL and shoot when you can, if shits taking too long DO ANOTHER BARREL ROLL!

I think the only thing about this game I don't like is you can run out of stuff to farm. I never ended up getting pure stones I wanted and theres no more geckos. :/

Geckos are the little blue shiney guys that run away when you're close. Theres limited amounts of them per game. D:

I'm sort of getting bored, Im never getting invaded in NG+ at Lv160ish and the guys you fight if you're summoned as Old Monk rarely put up a good fight
I kinda just want to get 100% Trophies now

Well the ones in the begining kind of suck. The ones later on drop the rarer stuff.

Ya, Geckos are definitely annoying, especially when you`re trying to upgrade things like the great axe or sword which take up a ridiculous amount of ores. Darkmoonstones aren`t so bad because you have 12 oppurtunities to get a pure darkmoonstone which is a decent drop rate with pure black tendency, and you can get farm however many chunks you need off the reaper. Moonstones suck though, because there is 1 less gecko that can drop pures and you also only have a finite amount of chunks that you can get as well. There is a trick though, although annoying and kinda cheap, but if you kill a gecko and it doesn`t drop what you want, you can quit the game through the xmb and try again until it drops a pure ore. You quit when you pick it up, but before confirming so the item window is still displayed at the bottom. If you hit the confirm button after you picked up the item it`ll autosave and it won`t work.

Wish I knew that sooner. Also it's pretty much impossible for me to kill this fucking dragon without being invaded this is megagay.

Could always go offline to do it, logout of psn, start the game will prompt you to login, hit o, then o again and you will start in offline mode. Also you can kill either (red or blue dragon) while being in soul form with a lot of arrows.

Best way to deal with Lizards I have found is to equip Thief's Ring (and use Cloak if you have it equipped) then edge yourself towards it slowly, lock on but don't get too close, fire off a soul ray/arrow at it, it should hit it and if it does it will flip it on its back. Now equip your weapon (Large Sword of Searching if you have it), run up to it and hack away until it is dead.

Thinking about getting this game for my new ps3, it sounds really hard which I'm down for, just thought I'd throw this out here for any warning like 'no, it's bad don't get it!' before I blow 60 bucks on it...

It's really fun, even though i just turned it off. The learning curve is pretty high though, I just now think i'm getting good at this game and I keep dying to this flaming boss. I do, like, 1/50th of his hp and i can only hit him twice per attack attempt But yeah, i'd say get it just so you can be amazed at how much the game hates you LOL

Game is totally worth the 60 bucks, it's hard but not in a "oh my god that's so cheap" sort of way. Every time you die it's because you did something wrong, not because the game decided to fuck you over. That's the best way I can describe it, anyway.

@Hiryo Flamelurker is arguably the hardest boss in the game... use a magic weapon or sit outside the fog and hope someone lays down blue runes so you can summon a helper!
