People who invade 1-1 are gay. I kept trying to do NG+ but I was getting invaded every 5 seconds. At least I kicked his ass, as a mage people can usually dodge all my crap or item up to heal. But against this guy I managed to get him to chase me and I used the homing spell while not facing him and it flew backwards and fucked him up. That made me laugh so much since he was rolling like he was auditioning for Wringling Bros but it got him by surprise and fucked him up.

On my first ng+ i was invaded like 20 times but i had 2 blus with me, so when we beat the stage we had damn near 400k souls, it was amusing.

Omg i finally beat the maneater, i feel like a freakin beast.

Then i died 3 times to the next black phantom after that lol. But then on the 4th time I got a new guy who was a total idiot and died in, like, 6 swings xD !

just picked this up today; damn this game is brutal. I hope things get a little more bearable once you clear the first boss and actually get to level up and stuff. At this point I'm still not too good at taking out blue eyes with the rapier, haha.

Just got this too, starting to realize after 1-1 that maybe Priest wasn't a good choice for a first roll... any input on that?

You should be fine. The weapon you want to use matters more than the class you start as. Your class only determines your starting gear and starting stats-- You can build towards a different class if you feel you are far enough in the game, or you can change classes if you don't like the gear/spells/stat you have right now. That's all a 'class' is anyway.

If you want a class that you can morph into any style you want, choose the royal. (AKA, Easy mode)

ya I see what you mean now, I ran through 1-1 on Royal by spamming Soul Arrow lol. I thought on Priest I was locked into the weapon and such, now I have a better understanding of the game mechanics, thx

So something really weird happened, I was in 2-1 on my Royal discovering and got about 3k souls so went back to level up. I leveled up my Magic, Intelligence, and Luck. Then upgraded my Scimitar twice.

I was once-shotting the mud guys in the mine with Soul Arrow before I left to level up, and when I came back I was doing less damage and not one-shotting them. It makes no sense because I added to my magic and should be doing more damage, right?

What gives, am I missing a balance feature that because I leveled my sword it took my magic down or something?

Sounds like your world tendency decreased. World tendency only changes once you go to the Nexus, and the closer you are to pure black, the harder mobs are.

Yeah if you die in body form in a world the tendency will go towards black. If it gets to pure black, you'll be in trouble as the black phantoms can be a pain.

I'm assuming you beat the boss from 1-1, got your body back, and lost your body in world 2. That seems to be most likely. Although, if that's not what happened--sometimes being online can shift your World Tendency one way or the other [it's a glitch, not supposed to happen].. It's kind of strange sometimes.

If you lose your body form in any world, the level World Tendency for that level shifts towards black-- making that level slightly harder. A cheap tip to avoid this is to commit suicide in the nexus.. but don't worry about world tendency until second, or even your third, play through.

Additionally, mobs don't level up according to your level.. They only get stronger (aside from WT shifts) in new game+.

You also do more damage in soul form compared to body form, so that's one thing to also keep in mind regarding damage as well as world tendency shifts.

Anyone around level 200 that wants to do some weapon-swapping for trophies btw? I'm getting kinda tired of farming overall and wouldn't mind a quick end to this. I be needing an upgraded weapon via marrowstone, cloudstone, and mercurystone to hold onto for a few seconds, got a random assortment of ores to give out if desired, as well as upgraded weapons for everything else if you need the trophies for them also.

cleared 1-1 last night. this game is badass. definitely a kind of steep/harsh learning curve to start, but very worthwhile.
