Biggest problem is that if you're one of the people must have it day one, there's been a history of pre-orders getting fucked. You pre-order with GS and their shipment comes in late for whatever reason. You've already got 10 bucks into a copy at GS, meanwhile, Best Buy across the street has 10 copies just sitting on a shelf and your hands are tied.

Maybe if things are as different as you say this is no longer an issue because nobody is stocking the games, but I'm not convinced. On release day I have no trouble finding copies of most games at a Best Buy in high supply. Why would I risk shackling myself to my pre-order at any store for any reason unless the game it terrible obscure or some shit. Hell, I remember even getting ToAU off the shelf at Best Buy back in the day in a relatively tiny little in east Texas.

Never had issues with preorders getting messed up, titles always in by 11:30AM, or streetdated titles are there when we open. Also, for that link you posted, Dead Space Extraction is anything but a huge title so he's an idiot if he thinks it was. Got 2 copies in and haven't sold a single one or had anyone ask about it, been sitting on the shelf since it came in.

Soul level 28 Thief now. Still using the same armor you start the game with. Just finished the Spider boss and did a little farming after that.

I'm pretty much one or two-shotting every mob up til now. Things are starting to get a little difficult.

I'm rocking a dagger +6 and 2-handing it most of the time until there's ranged attackers and at that point I'll put on my shield.

Dashing stabs with the dagger 2-handed are fucking vicious. I do about 250 damage each time. Dash stab, roll out, dash stab, roll out, repeat. Can take out a cluster of mobs no problem that way.

I bought the Korean version of DS when I went to Hk with a friend. After the 3.0 update my PS3, DS was loading and it just crashed the Blue-Ray. What do you think is the best tactic to replace this? Or just cough up $299 for another PS3? You guys who work at gamestop can I tell them what happened? Would they give me credit towards the purchase of a new PS3?

I need to level up my strength so I can use a bow to kill Red Dragon, whats the best extremely early soul farm?

Red Knight with polearm in upper section of 1-1, if you have initial damage spell from Royal (been a while since I played so I forgot the name, sorry) you can just spam it, every 3rd cast should break his guard and damage him pretty nice. Repeat till dead, should net 2-3k souls. Even Royal lvl 1 can kill him. However if you don`t have spell you better be good at parry/riposte becase if you miss (and still under lvl 40) you will get instantly killed.
Sneaking up on blueeye knights and backstabbing them is worth 400ish if I recall but for that you need Thief's Ring and be in soul form otherwise they will hear you coming.
I used to run up the tower on the left from the start (you unlock the gate with lever inside the tower), kill blue eyeknight, kill red eye knight, jump down where you meet friendly knight with Rune Sword&Shield, backstab blue eye knight, return to nexus to spawn them again. Pretty good farm (as early in the game) especially if you triggered Pure Black world Tendency.

If you die, you start again in Soul Form, you have 50-75% HP instead of 100% depending on World Tendency (if you die enough times in body form game gets harder) and if you equipped Cling Ring or not. To regain Body Form you need to kill huge demon, that means boss of the zone you exploring. Body Form = more hp but easier to detect, Soul Form is the opposite.

You're not collecting your body. You're just getting your previously collected souls from your bloodstain.

The only way to come back to life early in the game is to assist another player with a large demon kill.

Your body vanishes. Taken from you. It's restored once you complete an objective.

This is fantasy. There doesn't have to be a body. Just a bloodstain is all that's left behind in this world.

You can use a stone of ephemeral eyes to restore your body, but there is supposedly only a finite supply (or at least super rare) of those throughout the game. You usually only find them on dead heroes, you know, the loot that doesn't respawn.

Pro-tip: iif you find a level frustrating, use blue eye stone at beginning of level to put down a coop mark and help someone beat the stage they're on. If you make it through the level, and defeat the boss, you will get your body form back--which allows you to summon other players. HOWEVER, when assisting other players to beat other bosses, you do not get credit for the kill. Although, while assisting other players you face no penalty for death. Which is a big bonus.

I totally recommend helping other players beat the level (they may be further than you and know how to proceed in a level where you're stuck) because you not only get your body back so you can summon other players for your boss run, but it's totally new experience fighting along someone else.

That means your equipment burden is more than 50%. Lets say your equipment burden is 21/40, that means you have a slow roll and movement speed. Now if you up your endurance (equip burden+) to lets say 43 (making you 21/43 - less than 50%) you now move just as fast as you would with nothing equiped. In 1-1 I found the Ring of Great Strength with ups equipment burden by 20 which is really really nice(I use that ring and the cling ring). My character is equiped with full plate armor, a battle axe+4 and a Purple Flame Shield+1(that massive shield found in 1-1 that is as big as your body) and because I'm under 50% burden my character still runs as fast as he would naked even with all of that equiped. Whenever I run when blocking its like I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH, I just wish my plate armor was red.

Is there any real downside to putting all your demon souls into levels early on (by early on, I just beat 1-2)? Im a level 29 Temple Knight.

Also what stats is everyone focusing on? I seem to be focusing on HP, luck and then attack/defense.

Only downside in power leveling was that you'd be out of range to play with other people.. But people are catching up now.. Just got invaded. Guy had 9000 souls on him, what a sucker.

Playing as Royalty, Leveling up the melee stats primarily. But I built up my magic high enough so I can learn 2 spells in each spell tree (Lv16 Faith/Intelligence).

Wow, 9.4 from IGN. I'm impressed. Just beat 4-2, hardest fucking level if you have no idea what you're doing. But once you get it down, it's a rewarding experience.
