I don't know how people found King Allant hard. Keep your distance (especially when he starts yelling), and roll into him when he charges forward (he'll miss), then swing once or twice depending on your weapon speed and burden, then gtfo of the way.

Perhaps a lot of it had to do with my build though. I prioritized naked running speed over everything else as it allowed me to roll all over the god damn place and still be able to run.

so i just got the game, im finally getting the hang of how things work. i picked mage, was that a bad idea? should i start on a melee or keep going. also, whats the best way to farm souls at the beginning of the game?

Since you're starting the game with mage, you have to work a little harder than the rest because depending on how you level up, you're going to be a glass cannon. However, magic owns a lot of mobs/bosses and the average black phantom invader is not equipped to deal with a good mage.

Best way to farm souls in the beginning is just not to die, imo which is unrealistic I know.

This happened a long time ago, but i forgot to ask. I once found Old King Doran already dead (no body) but his items on the floor when i opened the door. Didn't feel cheated since i got the items, so i suppose i never ask if i did something to make that happen.

Was actually on GameFAQs the other day and someone said the same thing happened to them. They all came to the conclusion pretty much that it was a glitch. A really convenient one, heh.

Nah, he appears as a white NPC like the merchants. Some dude summoned me and another dude once to fight him and got pissed when we didn't do anything and got his shit stomped. It was actually pretty hilarious.

If it was an invader, i wouldn't know how he got in there (unless invaders who got the key on their world can open my door and enter).

lol AoE i was actually just looking at that site and didnt even notice the farming tab. ty for pointing it out. i have been reading the character builds to see what i should be aiming towards mage wise, and i found one that uses magic and melee so i think i will go for that for my magic char. i really like this game other then the punishment from dying, especially cause i lost like 7k souls yesterday and i went to get them back and my bloodstain wasn't there ; ;

Doran was actually a pretty easy kill for me. I basically used the poison gas cloud trick and that killed him pretty fast.

In my second play through I just used long ranged attacks and that worked out well until he charged at me when he got low. I eventually got him, but it was quite annoying.

Uh what I do is, directly after you do 1-1, get any old bow, then kill the red dragon in 1-2, go grab the purple flame shield, grab a falchion from 1-1, then go to 4-1 and farm the shit outta it. in 4-1 you can get the best bow in the game (Compound Long Bow) very easily. Also you can get soul remains and use that to distract the dual katana skeleton and grab the crescent falchion and/or the Adjucators shield and use those both for a decent amount of time. The Falchion until you get your main weapon/something better and Adjucators until purple flame.

I did the back stab thing with my first time through with a thief... shit took like 2 hours. 6 damage back stabs ftl -.-

Well there's an easy way to cheat on him with two blues. While they can't hit him, they can hold him in a corner making it easy for the host to poke away at him safely. Guy probably expected that to happen but never told you the strat...so he deserved his fate.

You will quickly realize 7k Souls is literally nothing. Like, not even an issue. Once you really start getting deeper into the game, getting a build that works better for you and getting a handle on where everything is, 7k souls will be stupidly easy to grind out. Also, if you started out as a Magician (or any other 'mage' class besides Royal) I suggest getting to 4-1 asap to trade the Brass Telescope (which is useless) Ostrava gives you in 1-1 to Sparkly the Crow. Once you get a Fragrant Ring, mages win the game.

Though just a quick suggestion, never buy a ring from a Vendor, you can get them free in other stages.

I'd wait until you beat the other bosses first and come back to him when you're able to just steamroll stages. He should be one of the last guys you fight, though with some spells (poison cloud) he'll be a stupidly simple fight.

Maybe i should have one of you guys tag team Allant with me. I still havent beaten the game because of him(I've been leveling a little instead). I have a temple knight with second life and that special SPR greatsword, dont remember the name, but its my most damaging weapon(which still does only 5% of his HP in damage). I have np avoiding all the easy attacks of his. Just every time he'll go SSJ on me with a sting of endless attacks that I just can't get away from. All the videos I found on youtube just show people 3manning him or spamming AoE attacks lol.
