Exactly. This. Or a reservation system like Diorama if they're too fucking cheap to buy new servers for truly instanced Dynamis.

Another Dynamis zone was stolen today on Phoenix. It still hasn't happened to us, but I'd imagine it's pretty fucking frustrating for the people it keeps happening to.

I guess being on a server that doesn't use a calendar at all makes it not seem like a as big a deal, but yeah we have large issues with the same shells doing Xarc 3-5 times in a row and feeling that they are still entitled to the zone every single week. Most shells refuse to /random when we propose it so instead it's a race for who is willing to pop first.

On top of that there's new shells refusing to pick nights that don't already have tons of shells running. 2 weeks ago on a Sunday every zone minus Valk and Tav were taken, and we had to basically ninja Bastok from a brand new shell who decided Sunday was a great night to start despite there clearly being 8+ shells already running.

I don't think this is really a result of the price dropping though, it's been like this on Ramuh for years, just more shells expounds the issue. Not really anything that can be done about it minus instanced runs.

They used to(well possibly still do, I just am not in Fraggles anymore) gank us on Fridays all the time. It was comedically sad.

Yeah, they would gank Evangelion, and then faye would make us gank Fraggles (Im sure Fraggles hated Evangelion with a passion)

I think they stole an area from us once while ive been in DA. cant remember though.

Ragnarok has a calendar that all the major NA/EU shells and a couple of the major JP shells use, but the other JPs for some reason love to make completely random groups and enter during EU time...

My ls is like 60/40 EU/NA and goes at 3pm est on saturdays, which is what... 5-6am JP? And we constantly have xarcabard ganked by JP shout groups. Of course they don't respond to anyone, even in JP. Childish little fucks who think it's 2003 and they rule the game.

How do you steal something that doesn't actually belong to anyone?

Just playing devil's advocate, but I digress. While I cringe at the word "stealing" knowing that some servers actually have organization enough to have a calender, yes people have been inconsiderate and entered with a small 1-4 man hold team just to ensure they'd get a zone my shell was gathering at, even if that small man team was merely stalling for 20-30 mins until their real enter time.

It hasn't happened to us in a long while, but again, since Midgard doesn't have a calendar, it doesn't take a last second mule to ruin a planned run. Its rather often on Tuesday night that a zone we planned was taken by a group 2 hours ago with 2 hours remaining. Worst case scenario being the one time when every zone was taken so we canceled.

Of course for us normal non-calendar servers, what that means is we're probably all thieves in someones eyes, since any one groups run getting moved can cause a ripple effect. Shell A takes Xarc from Shell B. Shell B, moves to Glacier, unknowingly ruining shell C's run because the first Shell C member wasn't there yet. Shell C arrives and Xarc and Glacier are taken so they go to Jeuno where 1-5 members of shell D standing nearby say "hey, we were gonna enter here in 35 minutes" but shell C ignores. So Shell B calls A a thief, Shell C calls B a thief, Shell D calls C a thief, and so on and so on.

So in everyones opinions which shells above are thieves?

Most people would say shell A is a thief since they sent a hold team in to grab a zone on the verge of being entered by B.

Some people would say B especially if they were the first member of shell C arriving just mere moments after B entered even though there was no way B knew C was coming.

Some people would say C is a thief but this an eye of the beholder situation, so the better question is how long? If you were shell C's leader, what would shell D have to have said to make you consider moving again? 2hrs? I bet not. 40 minutes? 20 minutes or less? And what about member count. If it was 4 people standing there from shell D saying they enter in 10 minutes, would you scoff at the obvious lack of a gathering regardless? On the other hand if 20+ people were standing there would your tolerance suddenly increase to them saying 30 or 40 minutes?

Nobody on my server even uses the Dynamiscalendar.com website, I'm the only person even registered.

We go in pretty late EST, so it hasn't been a big problem except that 2 new people need Sandy clears, and it seems that there's always someone in Sandy.

I do wish everyone used it though, would make scheduling our runs easier so we could avoid zones that people are entering at around 9pm est, currently someone checks zones about an hour before we gather and we adjust if one we wanted to do is taken.
(Used to send tells asking what their ETA on exiting was, but half the time you get no response or "lol idk")

I remember back in the day when I did Dynamis every shell but one used a calendar to schedule runs. This one particular shell would always gank zones from people and didn't care at all that they did it.

I think the shell eventually broke but other than them we all got along very well and never had problems with anyone stealing zones. I'm not sure whats its like now but I've heard there are problems with low man groups taking Xarc.

I'd totally use it, but we only ever have one LS that could be in the zone we want... so we just wait on them or go somewhere else.

But you know the 3 exact reasons why such a scheduler would never work on Cerberus ... WW, Armada, and whatever the hell Progeny or it's splinter LS calls itself these days.

They'd all look at the schedule and be like, "Oh, some LS is going to be in Xarcabard at 7pm, I guess we need to enter at 6.30pm!!! wwwww"

On Odin, I think everyone is fairly organized and uses Dev's Dynamis Calendar. There's been new shells popping up, but it hasn't been too bad.

Since September update, my shell has ran into an incident where a newer shell didn't change the time zone from GMT +0 and thus ended up in the zone we scheduled. Other than that, everything's be fine.
