It's funny, because, the NBA Finals got a 6.7 and the NHL finals got a 4.1 in the Neilson ratings. But they said 9.1 million viewers for NBA and 2.4 for NHL, as well as the fact that the NHL got a 7 share and the NBA got a 6 share. Ratings are so stupid, they need a better way to do it.

We're having people over to the house again tonight. As much as I love it, I hate playing host to that many people. The last time we had everyone over we had to put a second tv out in the kitchen because the living room was jammed to capacity. Hopefully, not as many people show up tonight.

There's a difference between a rating and a share. NBC has been doing everything in it's power to keep the ratings up in the NHL. They even cut out the "Joe Vision" because of the ratings drop that it would cause. They aren't doing that to NBA. When the ratings are so low that an arena of 17,000 could make or break you, it's not going too well.

edit: Where di you get a 6.7 ratings for the finals? I haven't seen anything lower than a 12.

Detroit doesn't look like themselves. This whole year Detroit's offense has been amazing with their ability to make players. They've played this run and gun, dump and chase style for the last half of this series, and its costing them.

Offside: When entering an attacking zone, the puck must clear the blue line before any offensive player crosses it. This is so that teams can't have 2-3 people sitting near the net before the puck gets up the ice to get passed to. So if any offensive player is in the offensive zone before the puck crosses the blue line, its called offside.

Icing: If the puck is sent down 2 or more lines (red, blue, goal), its icing against the team that sent it unless that team goes and touches it first. This is so that after a bad scramble in front of their net, the defense can't just throw it down the ice to get it out of danger.
